*** Arizona Pregame Thread ***

Long-range NWS forecast has 74 at kickoff, 65 at the end of the game. Only negative might be the second-half dew that has been the talk of recent night games.

Early money is all over Arizona. Line is down to 5.5 in some places from opening at 7.5.

This is a prove it game for the Clones.
Hard agree on the prove it. We’ve looked good to great at times, but none of our wins are impressive. The number of times we’ve looked bad look even worse knowing our competition as well. Really hard to tell how good we are right now.

What makes you unsure? Do you realize they have been playing a month strait without a bye? Not to mention traveling halfway across the world and back then playing in 100 plus degree tempts. I don’t care how physically fit you are that takes a toll on your body.
Here’s what makes me unsure. Good teams take teams like Arkansas State to the woodshed. It really felt like ISU was lucky to win that game. It took a phantom holding call to take a score off the board.
Kansas State is bad.
South Dakota is bad.
The Iowa win at least is respectable.

Could this team be great? Sure, but they have not shown it thus far. I hope we win, I’m cheering for us to win, but I have no expectations going in to this one.

Its Arizona's first road game, not sure they have a better win than we do, both beat KSU, ours was in Ireland while theirs was at home, I would say going to Arkansas State and winning that is a better win then beating Hawaii or Weber State at home.
If we can handle their speed, we will be ok, worried about our kicking game, what was a strength, now is in the unsure column and that can make a difference in a game.

We fell two spots thought we might move up a spot.
I figured we would get jumped by the teams that jumped us. Indiana was obviously going to jump us, and that seems deserved. Ole Miss had a dominant win over Tulane, which compares favorably to our game against Arkansas State. Texas Tech had a dominant win at Utah and probably deserved to jump us too.

The Cyclones will have plenty of opportunities to prove that they deserve their ranking and to move up. Hate to say it, but it would make us look better if Iowa upsets Indiana. Don’t know if I can stomach rooting for that though.

At this point in the season, anything from 11 to 19 is fine. Just win the games we should win. I get it if we drop wins like @TCU, that's okay. Win all at home and most on the road. That should get us into the Big 12 championship game.

Wouldn’t shock me if the spread is back to 6.5-7.5 by kickoff on Saturday. We talk a lot about how ISU hasn’t really played anybody good, hasn’t had a prove it game yet. Honestly, neither has AZ. They beat up on some patsys, and beat KSU. Nothing super impressive yet.

Anything can happen, but I like ISU’s chances in this one

After we beat Arizona, they will say we haven't beat anybody yet. (5-0)
After we win on the road at Cincinnati they will say we haven't beat anybody yet. (6-0)
After we win at Colorado they will say we haven't beat anybody yet. (7-0)

Then we play the 4 games in a row that will make or break our season! I am looking forward to going to the game next Saturday and enjoy the next win!
