*** Official 2025 Chicago Cubs Thread***

Both Soroko & Hodge threw too many balls. And that hurt Hodge because he had 3 pitches that were strikes where ump called ball.

IMO you keep Hodge in Chicago, but I'd make him a 7th inning or blowout guy.

Over next couple weeks Assad, Soroko and Civale are keys guys if every game one can come in and give Cubs 2-3 innings most games.

Use these two or three inning outings to get Soroka fully healthy and then he can let it rip in single inning appearances in the playoffs.

His stuff is nasty when he's right.

Hodge is not a major league pitcher.
He’s a lot like Ben Brown IMO. When he has his off speed stuff working it’s super nasty and about unhittable. But they are just not consistent whatsoever. Thankfully both of them are young if the organization wants to keep them around. But honestly I doubt either are here within the next two seasons

Both have too good of arms to quit on while they still have options. Look at Palencia. He came to spring training this year and suddenly everything fell into place

No, it’s because Castro hasn’t done **** since they acquired him. He sux just like Berti and Brujan before him. Unlike those two deadbeats though, Castro cost some player capital and he makes real money. He sux.

I hate to stick up for the Debbie Downers in this thread, but Castro has been a major disappointment since coming over.
not what was offensive thoughts but defense ok. just get tired of people berating a player. remember a player fails 7 out of 10 times.

I disagree. Castro is valuable due to his ability to play decently almost anywhere. It's gotta be an adjustment to hit well after switching leagues and they didn’t get him for his bat. But he has had some big hits since coming over.
