*** Official #14 IOWA STATE vs Arkansas State Game(Day) Thread ***

I feel like people have been claiming Rocco didn't play well after KSU, Iowa, and now ASU. That is 3 of 4 on the season. How many times can you claim, hey Rocco was off all day but we still managed to win before we start to consider that maybe he isn't off and this is just the level he is at right now. We are a quarter of the way through the season, and he is a Junior.

I feel like his roll outs to the right and passes have been pretty damn good.

He missed a couple but I thought he played fine. His pass catchers didn’t help him a few times. The play calling was suspect in the first half. I thought much better in the 2nd

You are a good poster, but I’m not buying the heat excuse. It was hot for both teams. Has been hot in Iowa all week.
It was hot for both teams, and I did not use it as an excuse. Just pointed out in a funny way (I thought) that it was HOT! ISU would have been just as ugly in fall weather or snow today.

He has really struggled with hitting receivers in stride this year. Like really bad. Multiple walk in TDs against Iowa and again today that didn’t happen.

With that being said the dude is a gamer late in the game when we need him to make plays

That game was ass. At least they didn’t lose, but WTH, ugly performance. Very lucky to be 4-0 here with a week off. Def not the #14 team in the country. Use the time off wisely guys.

Like when?

He has his moments, particularly late. But in 3 games against FBS opponents we have scored 24, 16, and 24. And then consensus seems to be that none of those opponents have been great teams. Starting to get concerned about our ability to generate offense going into B12 play. Gotta score enough to keep it close for Rocco to put on his cape in the 4th.

Rocco missed some passes but he had some good passes dropped…looking at you Brehmer. Hanson & Abu ran hard today best they’ve looked all year. In 10 years, Heacocks defenses struggle with running QB’s but consistently hold scores down particularly in second halves. I have no idea why but Heacock is the best ISU DC in my lifetime. Rocco is a winner in the clutch. Any word on Konrardy?

He had some really good throws. That one he dropped down the chimney to Townsend was perfect.

That wasn't the only phenomenal catch...feel like we relied a little too heavy on phenomenal catches.

It makes no sense to me. We are playing a team that gave up 300+ yards rushing to a ****** Arkansas team but we come out and throw 3 times in the first series and come out of halftime throwing.

The game plan should have been blast them running the ball.

2nd and goal on the 2, instead of pounding it in we try to get cute.

Hansen and Sama ate them up running straight ahead and quick runs between the tackles. Should have done even more of that.
