Is there ever a chance that ISU will ever restart the baseball program, or will Title IX (greatest thing ever to happen in the world of sports :jimlad:) be the proverbial road block on the road to accomplishing this task?

Random I know.

We will get men's swimming back before we get baseball back. Neither of them will be money makers and swimming will have less overhead since we already have a women's swimming program.

Who the flip cares about baseball at ISU ... when we had a team what did they average for attendance? We had it ... no one supported it ... end of story.

It wasn't too long ago that nobody cared about Nebraska or Mizzu baseball either... Now they are both conisitant top 25 programs, have tons of fan support, and you have guys like Ian Kinsler, Max Sherzer, Alex Gordan, ec. conributing to the athleic departments...

How have our baseball facilities fared over the past 9 years? They look in need of major improvements from what my eyes can see. A successful baseball program would be almost impossible without improvements.

Just a few years ago, ISU had better facilities than Mizzu, Nebraska and KU, around 2000 all three of those programs made a commitment of $2-10 million to baseball and since then all have made the post season. Mizzu has become a conistant top 15 program, Nebraska a consistant top 25 team, and Kansas a team that will reach the post season every now and then.

It would take at least a $8 million stadium to have a legit program in the big 12. With the talent base already in Iowa, combined with the JUCO programs around, I have no doubt ISU could be a consistant top 40 program.

Kinda off topic.. but I went to the KU vs Iowa baseball game Wednesday.. I could not believe the talent difference between these two in favor of Kansas.. Iowa looked pathetic... And Ku is a bottom feeder in the big twelve (10)... It amazes me how much better the Big 12 is in baseball over the big 10

The Iowa athletic department is hamstringing the baseball program big time. All they want is kids who graduate and bring the department GPA up, they could care less about winning... They are limiting the amount of JUCO's (in one of the best JUCO baseball states around) they can bring in and not letting the coaches take any chances on risky high school kids... It's too bad because in a weak Big 10, they could easily be contenders every year...
