A so called expert on college football for CBS Sports went on a national podcast last week and said he is still picking Kansas State to represent the Big 12 in the college football playoff. Also stated that he believes Kansas State is better than Iowa State and played better than Iowa State in Ireland, imploring the show hosts to go back and watch the tape. What in the actual **** does Iowa State have to do to get positive national notoriety?

His bio on CBS Sports is actually pretty funny.

Tom Fornelli

CBS Sports Writer/
@TomFornelli
Tom Fornelli has been a college football writer at CBS Sports since 2010. During his time at CBS, Tom has proven time and again that he hates your favorite team and thinks your rival is a paragon of football excellence.
Damn that's a little crazy

He has been for a few years now. When Chip mentioned that Rocco looks like a strong QB, Fornelli just chuckled and tossed out that he looked bad in the 1st half against KSU. You know, the first half. Where both QBs were bad and the downpour washed away the field lines.

Used to be a really interesting analyst to listen to, but now he's clearly married to social media attention and it has diminished his insights dramatically.

The 1st half against KSU. In the first game of the year. In a foreign country. In a downpour.

Yep, time for Rocco to pack it up.

Yeah he has also been one of the media members beating the drum about the very bad Week 1 for the Big 12 after Cincy, Colorado and Baylor lost -One bid league before the first full Saturday of the season, C'mon. Baylor was disappointing but Cincy and Colorado are more than likely going to be bottom half teams. Today I was catching up on my podcasts and when discussing TCU and Utah he downplayed their blowout wins over other P4 teams because North Carolina and UCLA aren't any good. He should be a politician. Great at spinning the narrative to reflect his personal ideology.

If you only watched their surprising 4 man front give us trouble, and then highlights, maybe

It should have been a 21+ point win

He’s been a clown for awhile

I don't understand why people constantly get worked up over these media clowns.
Just wondering what it is he watched that would've led him to make that conclusion. I know that Avery ended up with a better box score line than Rocco but anyone with eyes knows Iowa State more or less took the wildcats to the wood shed in the 2nd half. He must truly just be getting off on taking a dig at ISU fans.

Sports media pundit types never do that.

And to be fair if Rocco has one or two incompletions in the first quarter the CF game thread starts picking up traffic real quick.

The best take last week was on the defensive side: the Patton interception 'bailed the defense out'.

To be fair I thought KSU looked better early on, but ISU adjusted better and was better when it counted.

Being on the bandwagon with big money interests is a forward looking career move.

Definitely KSU looked better in the first quarter. They got some sacks (including a strip sack), we couldn't run the ball and Rocco missed some throws. Second half, we started moving the ball and mauled them. The only reason why this game was close is they had 2 desperation TDs on broken coverages. That happens, but that's a lot more correctable than just being flat out beat by a guy. We're kneeling at the 1 to end the game up 3 and somehow, they are the better team? OK. Them having to come back to beat ND didn't sway that opinion??

I like Cover 3 a lot. But, it's 3 ACC guys and 1 Big 10 guy. SEC will always get the respect they've earned, but no one there respects the B12. I know on their most recent picks pod, Fornelli commented on ISU fans going overboard on him on social media. Maybe stop saying stupid $hit and they won't do that.
