We went last October for Garth Brooks -everything was super expensive in the casinos -$15 for a beer, etc.. That's for sure killing the average Joe from wanting to hang in the casinos

The propaganda that Vegas is struggling is false. I’ve been twice the past 2 months on weekdays and the strip was more packed than any weekday I have ever been there. Tourism does go down in the summer yearly due to the extreme heat as well.

The numbers don't back up your anecdotal evidence. July saw a 12% drop in visitors and 8% drop in hotel occupancy rates from last year. While that may not seem like much that is pretty significant. I would link the article but it has some political discussion that would get my post deleted. It's not hard to find if you look for it. Data originates from Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
In all seriousness for those that are going to go, Aria is my favorite.
It's clean, the air is filtered really well, that room I have gotten has a separate mini fridge you can use: there is a CVS in front on the Strip (and a Walgreens on other side), and snacks and drinks are fairly priced and you can stock up and store them easily. You can open carry drinks thru any hotel.
Got two seats! SF is closer than Ames. Really looking forward to seeing the game.
I was just there for 9 days and yeah everywhere I went was busier than normal for Aug in Vegas. We joked constantly about where is this decline we keep hearing about.
I think it's highly dependent on where you are at. I was talking to a restaurant manager who said in his 20-year-old restaurant, 2025 YTD was the highest sales of any year ever. He said his best guess was the mid priced places were bearing the brunt of things; losing sales to cheaper options.
Right lol. It’s unbelievable what they are pushing online. All of these articles bring up statistics with no source of where the numbers come from. They also are saying this during the least busy time of the year. I’m afraid they publish these numbers and say these things for political gain. If these people would just go visit they would see.
I can see that but this doesn’t determine the tourism dollars or how busy Vegas is right now. For all we know you could have booked the one years ago during a huge convention or event. For example, a few months back I went to Vegas unknowingly during the AMA’s and prices were more than what you paid during the more expensive trip. If you visited Vegas right now you would see.

Because you use the word anecdotal doesn’t mean you’re smart… Tell me how Vegas is down when it’s tough to find a blackjack table across multiple casinos at 2 am on the strip on a Wednesday. Go visit and you’ll see.
