ISU unranked in AP poll

16 is perfect

K-State still receiving votes? I guess that adds to the respect we're being shown. Thought after almost dropping North Dakota though they'd fall off the list.

I really don’t understand why Oklahoma or Texas A&M would be ranked at this point after they both had very mediocre seasons last year. And Bama has no business being ranked at this point being 5-5 over their last ten. This isn’t Saban’s Bama anymore.

NIL and transfers are so unknown (in terms of expectations and how things play out) at this point that I’m not really sure how/where media feels that they can definitively say these are among the top 25 teams in the country this early.

We still need to work on earning respect since 16 voters still listed us as unranked!

As you would expect this early in the year, the votes are really spread out over a lot of teams. Only 9 of 65 voters had us at 16 or higher, yet we ended up at 16.
Those are the votes from the pre-season ranking. College Poll Tracker does not yet have the individual polls for this week up yet.

KU with 0 votes and KSU with 7 is insane to me. Poll interia is so stupid

Baylor's odds to win B12 vs KU was pretty dumb if anybody watched KU second half of the year and realized Daniels is back.

But they also finished last year winning 3 of 4, with 3 top 25 wins. They should have more credit than Oklahoma or A&M at this point.
Why should last year merit any weight? This isn’t 1997 anymore. Rosters turnover and change so drastically year to year, at this moment in time, last years results don’t mean what they use to.

I agree, but also a total overhaul of a team does not mean that the team will be any better. Sometimes great players do not make for good team play. Last year's Rutgers MBB team comes to mind. Great recruits. Poor team. Makes me wonder overall about what people are saying about Texas Tech.

Is FSU really any good or did they simply beat a very average (or poor) Alabama team--that was ranked simply because they are Alabama?

The games matter, and the rankings--this early--probably don't. Yet, I am excited for the general recognition nationally for the Cyclones.

I feel like FSU since Jameis has been all QB. They need a stud and if they don't have one/he gets hurt, it can go sideways quickly.
I like that the current one can run.
