I really like Clemson's, I'd just take the lower level seating a bit higher... I think we have alot more fans in the $150-$450 range than the $1500+ range.
This is probably true, and also probably the biggest reason that nothing is being done with it right now.
I agree. It would certainly have to be scaled back for ISU's needs. In reality, we don't need more of ANY seats. I envision some enclosed upper space (for the bowl look) that could be used for other purposes and 5-10 years out, the space is converted to suites.
Well, there is always a waiting list for end zone seats and the hillsides always seem more crowded than anywhere, so I would say there is a pretty good demand for cheap seats with no donation required... You BUILD a fan base with those, then hope they become the big time donars.

dude, it doesn't have to bowl in. why the obsession!? just make it somewhat like kinnick. fill in the end zone but don't bowl it. that way you don't have to demo any current seats just to rebuild seats in the same spot. save money and get a great effect.
I love sitting in the endzone, especially with the new scoreboard.
And I imagine the Jacobson building pavilion is considered a premium location!
I almost don't care what it looks like anymore, as long as there's a full, permanent structure in place taht makes the stadium look big time.
Ugh. I hate the UNC's stadium. It is a great setting that could be nice, but the legroom is HORRIBLE. I'm 6'4", and I literally couldn't sit with my legs pointed straight at the field. No exaggeration whatsoever. I'm used to not being comfortable in stadiums, but theirs was basically impossible. If all of the seats around us would have been taken, I wouldn't have been able to sit there.....I took up 2 "seats" sitting sideways.
I like Clemson's idea. Nice and makes sense for ours as well generating revenue and filling it up.
Good point. Especially with the "growing" obesity in America (and the direct correlation between obesity and the prosperity that it takes to get fat and be able to afford good season tickets)!
I have always like the idea of a Kinnick or scaled back nebraska endzone etc...No demolition and you can create a very steep nasty looking endzone instead of keeping the slope of the existing decks.
Part of what I like about Clemson is that it reminds me of the stands (boxes) behind the starting line at top-line drag-race tracks.
Eh. Don't **** around and just bowl it in like a big boy school. Since after all, we are going to be joining the big boys under CPR.
other schools seem to do stadium expansions with relative ease compared to us. Either our alumni don't not have money, or our alumni with big money are not engaged in the sports programs at the same level as other schools. Kind of frustrating.
Do what other fundraising events have done. I've been to Kwik Star and at certain times they have fundraisers for Special Olympics. Whenever you make a purchase, they ask you if you would like to donate $1 to the cause. With all of the concession stands and ticket vendors, along with other university events, money would flow in rather quickly. For $1 most people could not say no but they also have the option of donating more.
