Xavier foster vs norwalk.

UNI is willing to run an offense that will allow a player like Born to run around screens to get his shot, while ISU does not seem willing to run such an offense. The ISU offense is more free flowing, and the thinking is that with a shorter player like Born, he would struggle getting open against the taller guards he would be playing in a power conference.

I tend to think this idea is a crock of crap, the kid can shoot, and we need shooters. I would be more than willing to have him get his shot blocked every now and then if you can open up the middle by bombing away from the outside.

The issue with Born wouldn't be on the offensive end

Shooters, shooters, shooters.... that's what you need to load your roster with. I've always believed that, and always will.

Fred had 5 guys on the floor that could shoot from 3.... Prohm has 1 if he's lucky.

Look at UNC this year. Dickie V said the other day that they've had a bad year because of injuries of course, but also mainly because they don't have any shooters.

Any T-Wolves fans out there like me? They just remade their entire roster in a couple of days and added shooters. Last night in their first game with this new roster, they beat the Clippers by about 30 and hit a team record 26 threes.

Iowa has guys that can shoot, and so does UNI. We have nobody, other than maybe Haliburton.

And as of now, there's nobody coming to the rescue next year either. Just more athletic wings that can't shoot.

I want to be able to root for Born at UNI. Please don't ruin that

I was JUST thinking this. You just know that there is going to be a 4 year Born thread on this board and every time he hits a 3, people will *****.

Did the AJ Green thread finally go away? Talk about a shooter, and all we had to do was hire his dad as a coach if I recall.o_O
We offered him and everyone knows why he isn't here. We offer Born and he's probably a Cyclone. Quite different. Also, pretty much everyone knew Green would be a good college player.

Our current group of guards have height, and still cannot defend, nor shoot, outside of Halliburton. I'll take the kid that can shoot a lot over the tall kid that can't.

Halliburton has height. That's about it. I'd say Lewis, but he probably won't play much the rest of the year after that performance last night.

OSU spend a decade it seems featuring height disadvantaged guards that could shoot from anywhere and we regularly watched them go off on us...I’d have taken a shot on Born. Good 4 year guy.

The late 90’s and early 2000’s were good times. Seen any guys around like that lately?

Those guys were also built to handle the physical play in the Big 12. Born is like 150 lbs.

What guards do we have that can't defend?

What guard do we have that is a + defender? Because if we have one, we sure give up a lot of easy trips to the basket.
The problem this current team has is no constant outside shooting, now I am not sure if that is because of them moving back the line this year and its going to take time for them to adjust or what, but we are not a nearly the same quality of outside shooting this year as we have been in the past.

For guards Haliburton, Jackson, Grill and Nixon are good defenders. Bolton can be at times. Lewis isn't

We have no clue if Grill or Nixon are good defenders, they are never on the floor. So we have Haliburton, that can play D, Jackson what I have seen is average at best.
Bolton is horrible, hell last night we had a four on one break, with Bolton the basketball, Grill was on his right, and when the defender moved towards him, instead of an easy pass to Grill for a layup he shot the ball, missed and we ended up with nothing.
