Woodstock 99

I saw Metallica, NIN, Henry Rollins, Green Day and RHCP (agressive music) at '94 at age 19. Boozed, drugged, and saw topless females and was in a mosh pit (during NIN, was great)...never did I see one act of violence.

Didn't go to '99 and I'm glad I didn't.
That’s a lie.

Green Day got into a mud fight with the crowd. ;)

Wasn't there more 'soft' or contemporary acts to even that out though, in order of appearance? I'm also not sure if I'd put those bands in with the 'let's all be angry together!' column.

Band after band that's bringing that I think really amped things up.

Yeah, you make fair points. NIN did get intense AF though, huge swirling mosh pit. Especially during March of the Pigs, it was great. It's true, the nu metal limp bisquixk bs wasn't really a thing then. Either way, glad I passed on 99.

Even after watching the doc I am still disappointed I didn't get to attend this. Some of the stuff that happened was absolutely disgusting but to see that lineup live would have been pretty sweet.

Agreed that the lineup was great, but they lost me when they described the sewage leaking out and people moving through it. Growing up on a farm, I am used to dealing with animal waste, but human waste brings it to a new level for me.
