Anybody using one of these? I don't want to run a long cat 5 cable thru the middle of my house, and I am not comfortable with the powerline technology yet.

Do they work? What brand are you using?

I dont know if this is something you might be interested in, but I am using a standard wireless router and upgraded/modified the firmware with dd-wrt to make the router a bridge. www.dd-wrt.com | Unleash Your Router

Basically, it allows the router to take the wireless signal upstairs from my main router and distribute that signal from the 4 lan ports on the back

xbox computer etc etc

Only certain routers can have their firmware upgraded, but its a simple solution and I bought the second router for about $15-20

I dont know if this is something you might be interested in or maybe your not comfortable with upgrading hardware, but its a idea. Sure beats buying the $80 xbox wireless adapter :)

big d's idea will be the cheapest option. If it was me I would use the power line thing though. I have used them and they work just fine. I have also used wireless repeaters too, and they work fine as well. The one I have used is a linksys one, you need to have your router unsecured to set it up at first.
