Will Breece be traded?

Let's hop he doesn't let his ass show too much here. In the end, he's under contract and bad team or not, it's your job to play.
Driving a go cart around the locker room of a 1-7 team while asking to be traded doesn't seem like the smartest thing to be doing.

Sorry Breece, but I'm glad that trade didn't happen, we don't need the Chiefs with a good running back.
He wouldn't be an upgrade over what they currently have. He and Pacheco have identical numbers and Pacheco is cheaper. Kareem Hunt has played pretty well this year. Given how good KC has drafted the last several years there is no way they were going to give up any higher than a 4th round pick for him. Andy Reid has a tendency to abandon the RB even when it's working.

Pacheco is hurt and both him and Hunt are hard runners that are not going to finish a run. Neither is going to make a tackler miss and take it to the house. Hall has that ability and would have put more pressure not the defense, look at how much Cook with Buffalo puts that pressure on the defense, Hall would have done the same for the Chiefs. They offered a 4th rounder and the Jets wanted a 3rd, which the team was not willing to go that high. I think they should have, but Veach has done a good job in the past but the offense has been off this entire year because of injuries and other factors.

Identical numbers when one has a Super Bowl supporting cast and the other is on the Jets...?

Kareem Hunt is fine. Breece Hall isn't giving us anything we don't already have. Veach knows this too. If this wasnt an ISU board we wouldnt be having this convo. When Andy makes a commitment to get the run game going we run the ball fine. I don't want to pay Breece at the end of the year anyway. RBs are a lousy investment. I'm not giving up a good TE or defensive player in the draft for Breece Hall. We aren't lacking in the RB department. We are lacking in the gameplans commitment to the running game at times. Rex Ryan said it best "Andy Reid is the only offensive line coach I've ever seen who doesn't like to run the football." You watch the Chiefs every week. The idea that getting Breece Hall is somehow going to make Andy want to give him the ball 15-20 times a game is laughable.

On a 1-7 team that just traded away big pieces and is tanking, It’s his job to protect his body in the last year of his contract and be ready for FA.

Again, just because they did not trade for Hall does not mean the team would not have been better off with a back of his caliber. RB are expensive but if you have a Barkley like the Eagles or Cook from the Bills they are a difference maker. KC does not have that guy, when was the last time KC had a back rush for a 30 to 40 yard run, it's 5 yards, 7 yards, 2 yards. That is the problem.

The only team in the NFL this year that is running it more than passing the ball is Buffalo, so every team is throwing the ball because the rules today say you should throw the ball more than run it. Pacheco is hurt, and Hunt is a fine back and then who? The 7th round pick out of the draft that has not carried the ball much.
If they had given up a 3rd for Hall you still have a 1st and 2nd round pick to get depth at TE or LB, or along the Dline, if Hall ran like many think he would in KC, you talk to him about extending him another few years, if he is not a major upgrade you let him walk. You are playing for this year, you worry about the salary cap and the draft after the year, not now, while you are still in the race.

Andy is never going to consistently commit to the run game with #15. If Andy wanted to run the ball we'd be 7-2 right now. Its never going to be him. We only need to run the ball to set up play action and keep the defense honest. If Breece Hall was as good as this board thought he was people wouldnt be offering 4th round picks for him. Elite backs don't mean squat in 2025.

Hall was the best RB on the block at the trade line, and would have been an upgrade over what the Chiefs have now. Its not the amount of carries that are hurting the Chiefs, its that both backs are not breaking off long runs, and its been that way for years.

You don't watch the chiefs. We don't need him. We can't run the ball because Andy deserts the running game and out online is hurt. We need the 3rd round pick more than Breece Hall.
I do watch a lot of NFL. Your run game sucks and Pacheco is not even close to Hall in player quality or stats. If you're making yet another run at the Super Bowl, Hall would absolutely help you get there. Hall is also an outstanding throwing target, it doesn't just have to be rushes.

If you don't want to be the ones to pay him, sure. I can understand that. Implying that he's a worse player than Pacheco or Hunt is non-ball-knower insanity. Now, Reid not knowing how to use a rush game in KC... You got me there. Maybe he'd learn with a top tier RB. As a Vikings fan, I get it with my coach and RBs.

High likelihood he's franchise tagged since they didn't trade him. Doubt he hits free agency

This is too funny.

I love the concerned responses to this kind of stuff. One, no one has any context for what is happening here. Is it his go kart? Did a teammate bring it in? Is it one they have at the facility specifically for the players to goof off with a little bit?

Second, the idea that if the team isn't doing well these guys aren't allowed to do anything that might be perceived as light hearted or fun because it is evidence they don't care and aren't taking their job seriously. There is a 10 second clip of him driving a go-kart around so clearly all he did all day is screw off. Never mind the fact that Breece probably works harder at his profession than 99% of the people who criticize him.

It's not this year that's the problem for other teams (looking to compete, anyway). It's paying him next year that's the problem for them. He's a great foundational piece.

He wasn't sitting at the deadline because he's a bad player. He's too good of one to pay for.
