Wide Receiver Hype

If people want to see your entire quote they can click that little arrow. Nothing stopping them. And I doubt it changes their opinion. Just pointing out what losers say. If you have a problem with that stop talking like a loser.

I read the full post and it didn't change my opinion.

WR's dropped too many balls! Period. The DB's gave up too many yards- way overinflated ego. Special teams blew all day. Why are we running ball out and losing 5-7 yards every time on the KO? MW was not shifty enough to do anything. Totally choked this game away. Same old CLONES - just making losing more exciting! Stop saying they gave to learn how to win- total BS. Just win !

Untimely drops, or any mistake, can really change the perception of things. That drop by Butler was huge, but overall a decent day. We've got some playmakers, and if we can clean things up just a bit, our offense is fine.

Iowa was fired-up and played above their heads in many aspects. Honestly, without that, and the injury to KCM, we blow that game open. Credit to KF and particularly his son for pumping his team up all off-season for this one.

They even had a sideline warning. The guys wearing the war paint were NOT hyped at all for this game. The Hok fans were right it's just another game for them.

I thought the receivers played ok, yes there were drops but there were also big catches. Montgomery was amazing. If I'm being honest I'd never have imagined he'd do that to Iowa's defense. Kid is a one man offense at times.

And when he was churning out those yards, the passing game was essentially a game of catch.

Online needs to get better. I think they will.

Iowa wasn't much different than UNI, so a very disappointing loss, but we also were very close to making this one a similar game. The offense isn't there yet, but it should be okay by the time the conference season starts. Some concerns about the defense are warranted imo when teams like UNI and Iowa have that type of success. We're likely very turnover dependent this year, and losing a guy like KCM makes that tough.

A caller brought this up on the reaction show, but I would like to see more short dump passes to Montgomery. Our receivers are still really really good (despite what some of you think), and by opening up another threat with Montgomery down low, that can only help open up our receivers down field. After going back and watching the highlights, some of the best plays were Montgomery's receiving plays. And there were numerous times where he seemed open in the middle of the field and Park chose to through it deep instead with a 50/50 chance of connecting.

I think using Montgomery's receiving ability is a must, but Iowa called a great defense when we overused it and got that INT.

Next preseason, when everybody wants to get excited about our receivers and how great they are, please just link the film of this game. If they catch the ball today, we win. Simple as that.
I don't know if the receiving corp is overhyped or not, but we are just excited about them (maybe every year, yes), they are OUR guys, EVERY year, and can be/are very good. And we want to support them. Did they drop a few passes, yes, s**t happens. Did they catch a few, you bet, great game really, but so did Iowa/Stanley, go figure, but give credit. These guys are going to win us some games this year. I'm stickn w/ em, and the process, they (the whole team) are getting better, and will stack up some wins, confident in that. This Team is going to hurt this week, nobody likes to lose. We will see how they come back. Two games.

Yeah there were a few drops... but Iowa could of beat us by a ton if they had a QB... couldn't cover anyone

Vs hype, worst player on team?

Mike Warren. Wherever he is, in the backfield, returning kick offs, expect a straight ahead slow motion plow into the first tackler and fall down.

Thank you, because now he's going to break a big one next week.
