While I agree that the contract numbers say CMC will be here at least through the end of next year no matter how badly his team plays and performs, you have to acknowledge that in the new era of football we are in the decline will be harder and faster than they have been in the past. Recruiting can dry up and players will leave for greener pastures. There's a lot at risk.

I'll take a coach that goes for it on 4th and 1 when they're on the opposing team's 20 yard line and down 10-0 with about 7 minutes left in the game.

Of course maybe we don't convert, or do convert and don't get a TD, or convert and require extra time to get a field goal ... but at that point, you can't go back and fix mistakes that got into a 10-0 hole, take a chance.

Should have tried an onside kick after the touchdown, too. At that point, we were at "win by desperation" anyway.

I think search firms are generally just covers to talk to people under contract so AD's don't step on each other's toe's as bad.

Right. Everyone knows the up and coming coaches that would be a coach we could get and the big schools know which coaches they can poach from schools like ours. Search firms are dumb

College football
No, explain please?
College football isn’t college football anymore, for all intents and purposes it is the pro game now. NIL and transfer portal mean a season like is nearly a death sentence. The rebuild will be long and very hard.

Pollard isn’t firing him. If you continue to follow be prepared to hope for 7 or 8 win seasons. Historically not bad for ISU but not what a fan of any major conference team should put up with. I attended ISU when Walden was coach and have been a loyal fan ever since but I’m tired of the nonsense. If they ever pull it together and have a good year (not just good for ISU) I have earned the right to jump back on the wagon but I can’t keep putting energy into this disaster.

If I’m pollard I say F it and retire. Spend more time at Lake Panorama

We were there. We had arrived and were actually in playoff discussions. Now we have regressed back to Paul Rhodes / KSU meltdown territory. Gotta be frustrating for an AD that has pumped a massive amount of money into the program.

Wouldn't that be the discussion between Pollard and campbell?... "hey, Matt, if you have any leads on jobs, let the AD know that we'll waive the buyout."
No way would pollard do that. We’ll need his buy out to pay his replacement’s buyout.
