Who is our #1 rival? (Not including iowa)

I was on ku's forum and got me wondering what our number 1 rival would be.

I don't get how some of you could feel like WVU is our rival. They don't even fully feel like they're in the Big 12 yet to me. It's still weird.

They've beat us 7(?) straight years so I don't think you can count that as a rivalry. Maybe Kansas in football.

I think ISU has a good fan base, but I'm not sure what justifies them being one of the two best teams. When was the last time they even finished in the top 2 in the Big 12?

I'd say Mizzou was sort of close- always seemed like a pretty intense feel from the home crowd.

We have no rival outside Iowa. We're quite a ways from anything close to a Kansas rivalry. Need to win at the Phog a couple times in a few year span and win a couple Big 12 titles to have any shot of it.

I had to question a dude's question two weeks ago when he told me how it didn't make sense geographically for WV to be in the Big 12. I agree with that, but he was a Big 10 homer, so when I asked him, of course Maryland and Rutgers made sense since they were close to Penn State, and of course Penn State made sense because it's a border state to Ohio.
