Which state is most Midwestern?

Everybody I know from Kansas has a southern accent. Kanas seems more western to me than midwestern. Kansas did have slaves in the 1850's. So there's that.
Everyone I know from Kansas sounds exactly people I know in Southern Iowa. Which is a mildly southern accent, but that's compared to my "dontcha know" right off the set of "Fargo" accent.

I've always considered Minnesota as part of the "Great Lakes" territory - along with Wisconsin and Michigan, and not Midwest.
The portion of Minnesota that was originally prairie is extremely Midwestern, IMO and totally different from the North Woods/North Shore part of Minnesota.

I'm from south of 80 in Iowa and I can't tell someone from Kansas but can Minnesota. Your math checks out :jimlad:
