Where we are now

We have two of the top five freshman in the Big12 and more studs on the way. Biggest difference today is that our coaching staff is good at evaluating talent and then putting in the work that it takes to get them to Ames.

In a way Im glad we didnt get some of the bigger fish we went after this summer. One it let some of our younger guys take on larger roles quicker (Lard, Wiggington) and secondly losing games with talented players should put a chip on their shoulder which usually results in great seasons following because they are fully invested and dont want to lose again.
It’s too bad we landed Shayok. In a way it will suck if he’s good enough to be our best player and help us reach the tournament, thus preventing THT from having a larger role. Did Prohm even consider the damage to the chip on the shoulder such success would have?
