@jcordova8 (or others), can you let us know when ISU wrestlers will be competing?

I know you can't be exact, but if you can even give estimates, such as "make sure to watch in the early part of the 1pm session to see ____ wrestle," it would be super helpful for those of us who are Cyclone fans more than wrestling fans. Thanks.

on the Iowa state wrestling X account. They do post for example Stevo Poulin is on Deck on Mat 3. They normally do a good job at doing that if you have X.

If you follow @theshadow session threads on here, someone usually posts something like “MJ on deck Mat 6”. It will be a lot to keep straight early since all 10 are going. The multi view will be your friend on the ESPN+ but that view also kind of sucks.

Also, for casuals, shadow does a SUPERB job of summarizing information like team scores and upcoming matches for each guy and stuff in each sessions thread. We all owe that guy a beer.

When I can't watch, I enjoy reading the threads. Some of you guys do a great job of reporting and commentating.

But what I'm looking for is something that helps me know before they are "on deck" and let's me going into an afternoon having some sense of when to watch.

For instance, are there particular hours today when I should make sure to be watching? I can arrange my schedule to be doing things at those times so I can watch, but I won't be able to just sit and watch (or stay on top of CF posts) all day. Ideally, it would be getting some idea at the start of each morning, afternoon, or evening of approximately when our guys would be wrestling.

The radio guys will be out there too I’m sure. They can help keep you up to speed. You just have to get through them eating snacks their wives sent with them on the air. lol

I love listening to the radio guys. However, I can't just listen all day long. I'm hoping to know approximately when to have the radio guys on. Will they give estimates of when the the next Iowa State wrestler will be competing? If so, then maybe that is my answer.

The first session or two will be constant since they are all there. Might have an idea of gaps on Friday if some guys get beat out. Don’t miss Friday nights session though.

There's no way to know before they're on deck, unless it's (a) the start of a session, when they assign 3 matches to a mat before going to the rolling format; or (b) the placing matches, when you know all of the matches will be on a specific mat or mats in weight order.

The session threads will have general ideas of time for the initial matches, using bout numbers.

Ex: This round is 181-260, and the first matches for ISU guys are 197, 209, 222, etc.

The absolute fastest way to find out is to have Track/Flo pulled up. I believe they still have a function that allows you to track just ISU guys -- once they get assigned to a mat, it'll pop up.

Flo you can also sign up for text alerts.

No offense intended, but the opening question reminded me of when my wife asks me how long a particular dual will be. I answer, "Well, will all of the matches result in a 20 second pin, or will they all go into overtime?" To this day she still asks that question and then when I give her that answer, she looks exasperated and walks away after giving me 'the look'.

Thanks. I will take your advice, sign up for Flo, and set up text alerts.

Or maybe just watch everything!
I’m not sure you have to sign up for Flo. This function is available on Trackwrestling. Select the Nationals tournament in Cleveland…Under My Wrestlers select ISU and then opt in for text messages when ISU wrestlers are assigned mats and then you should be set…I do it for our kids who wrestle and when I’m not around to watch ISU and get messages to
Keep us updated

That is just the baseline for me. I have that on a big screen, at least 3 other screens going and maybe a tablet and my phone. I got Trackwrestling open, along with ESPN+ for specific mats in addition CF. Add-in printed brackets, and a set of colored pens and I am set to go.

I will do my best to help support following the Cyclones throughout the three days! I won't be AS fast. But I will try.

I am also putting together a big wrestling guide with info on following the Cyclones. Hoping it'll be beneficial for all fans of all levels.

It may be tricky at times, but I remember watching David Carr's championship match in Omaha Chi Center during the MBB tournament.

I do similar, but it gets tricky at times because there can be as much as a minute difference between the main feed, mat feeds and flo/track.

I usually just have the mat cast up on the big screen, but use my computer to watch specific matches I want to watch as I follow along with track/flo mat schedules. Trying to watch all 8 is too much to follow.

Flo/Track is usually ahead of any of the streams... I'll be honest, sometimes I watch Flo/Track and look away from the stream when I'm really nervous about a match...lol. Kind of like how some people can't stand to watch last second free throw attempts. :p
