What do think of this informative article, Daphne?

You flush, lid up
Not only can that can send a spray of toilet ick flying into the air, but the particles can be propelled as far as six feet away from the swirling bowl, according to research by germ expert Charles Gerba, a microbiologist at the University of Arizona. Feel free to take a quick survey of your bathroom stuff within those limits; then implement your new lid-down rule (and store that toothbrush inside the medicine cabinet, just in case).

That is what I'm talking about!! Everybody should be cautious when you flush. I don't agree that you should flush lid down, coz that's also disgusting because you are gonna sit on that next time, that's more gross

I was going to give this a funny, but gave it a winner. Who doesn't love a good toilet?

Agreed.

Why do they even make standard height ones anymore? I bought one by mistake and it looked like it should be in a kindergarten bathroom. The ADA height is far superior in every way. Gotta be elongated too.

They splash and sometimes even to your face. It's sooooooooo dirty!!! Especially new bathroom on first floor in library, you have to press the button and wait for the flush to splash on your body. And when you pee, it splashes too, coz the waterline is so high. I don't understand why they design it like this and why Iowa state bought them and put them in use. Can anyone tell me why???
Sounds to me like you just chose your adventure.

The reason for the powerful flushing toilets is due to cleaning the bowl and making sure the crap actually goes down. Helps keep the bowl clean and prevent clogs therefore reducing down time and overflows.

So this thread has me wondering, what criteria would the “best restroom on campus” need to have? Would people prefer a small room with a single toilet for the privacy (even if they need to wait for it to be available), or do people prefer larger restrooms with lots of stalls? I kind of like toilets that have a strong flush, but it sounds like the OP would disagree. I would imagine that restroom location, cleanliness, and ease of access are also important factors to consider.

Best are large ones no one uses, but small out of the way/private are the best (as far as what's realistic). I would not want to have to wait for one, however. Do you really want to sit on a pre-warmed seat...or one with biological matter on it?

Honestly I just want ones that will be open and conveniently located. I don’t want to walk further just for a super private one nobody else uses. I don’t care if others have to hear a #2 of mine lol. Now my wife on the other hand basically cannot poop if there are “secret listeners”.

I get that, but what if the people designing that particular commode are that same that put together the Highway 30 flyover? You either under or overshoot...and overshooting is not what you want in a toilet.
