Letter from IRS was an address change. Some goofy thing I get because the accountant messed up my addresses on the original corporate taxes and I fight it every year.

I may joke about Ho’s but I really don’t care for them and wouldn’t date or ever marry one, if I ever became single. So a nasty letter from the IRS would be worse.

Anyone else getting scam calls from the “FBI or IRS”. Happens quite often lately. Really annoying.
I had about 3 of them saved on my cell phone. One was some guy with a very heavy accent claiming to be Trevor (or something), and his parting words were "...then I wish you a good luck as the situation unfolds on you."

No I don't have this happen to me, but I do have some scam call every couple days trying to sell me a new car warranty. It is infuriating because I had for months just requested to be put on the do not call list. Words of wisdom, scammers do in fact offer a do not call list just like any legitimate business might. The big difference is that they just offer it, nothing past that point.

The strange thing is that they use local numbers to do it. I know this because I have called back unknown numbers that look local and the individuals say that they never called me. Other instances I have answered the scammer's call, tried to get information out of them before I knew it was scammers so I could actually get put on the do not call list then I try to call them back after they inevitably hang up on me and it goes to a local private number. Unsuspecting local s pick up and usually are unhappy with me when I inform them I just got a call from this number and they insist they didn't call me (which I assure them that yes I believe them) but to anyone aged 35-55 this means I am calling them a liar. So if you get an unsolicited call from a local number asking who they are talking to, I apologize.

I got a voicemail a couple weeks ago that I had "unpaid back taxes" and to call such-and-such a number to "resolve" it.

Then about 5 days later, I got a call I answered from a woman with a bad connection and a heavy accent saying she was calling from "The US Federal Government Department of Rent." Odd that they're just now calling me, since I haven't been a renter since 2003. ;)

Kardasiums for my 13 minutes of fame. How funny would it be to see a Globe magazine with "Senior Citizen Granted Restraining Order against Klustie Kardasium" as the headline?!!

Might even get a book deal out of that!
