What an absolute joke....

Does Hobby Lobby have to disclose to the public if they fine an employee? After all, it is the public buying Hobby Lobby's products and paying for them to exist. Dang it, I want to know when Hobby Lobby fines an employee!
good point but if that employee got fined for doing something on national tv i have a feeling you would want to know just saying there is a big difference between a hobby lobby employee and an NFL player

They threw the flag because (they thought) Suh pushed/hit Cutler in the back of the head. And it was close, but pretty iffy.

I'm assuming the fine is automatic for the unnecessary roughness penalty.

Because they are a private organization! They don't have to tell you anything about how they run their business if they don't want to, nor should they have to. Does your company publicly disclose HR information? Why not? I think they should have to.
i know what your saying but i am just saying that anything that happens on national tv the public should have a right to know what is going on

Now, I can see how in real time, it may have looked like a forearm to the back of the head, which even the commentators say, before the penalty is explained by Hoculi.

However, I don't understand that when you look at it, and it's clearly not an illegal hit, why the NFL is going after Suh...

Of course we WANT to know. But the NFL has no obligation to tell us and I respect their right not to do so.

Right on! I want to know the exact number of votes each person on American Idol gets! In fact, I have a right to know, because it is on national TV. Damn it! I'm writing my Senator right now!

So just because the NFL is on TV, they should have to do what NO OTHER BUSINESS IN THE WORLD is required to do?

Comparing professional sports organizations to companies is asinine.

Unbelievable. Watching it live, I understood that in the heat of the moment the flag was thrown to err on the side of protecting players. At full speed it was a judgement call for the ref. Fair enough. The replay, however, showed that it was a shove to the back, not a forearm to the back of the head. At that point Cutler was well past the line of scrimmage, and therefore not considered defenseless. It was also clear he was not sliding, given that he was shoved forward onto his face.

To see a fine levied is shocking to me. The flag was forgivable since there could be no official review, but for the league to have looked at the tape and decide it was worthy of a fine? Unbelievable.

I can't believe you went there! I was going to say because Idol is on TV Paula should be required by law to come out and tell us whether or not she boinked that contestant a few years back. And provide film, if possible.

mike and mike said that it goes to charity. not sure which one or how it is decided but that is definately where it goes.

this was back when andre johnson and courtland finnegan were fined-the conpiracy theorists claimed that goodell was pocketing the money, but the nfl has apparently made it public that it does go to charity.

my beef with this is how do you find aj and finnegan 25k/each for what they did and suh gets 15k for this?

This.

The NFL doesn't even have to publicly disclose that a fine has occurred. They're a private business. They don't have to share the information unless legally compelled.

As far as this situation goes, it's clear that the league wants the game to change. You and I don't have to like it, but it's their product, and they can do what they want with it. Our option is to stop consuming. But guess what? We're not stopping. Ratings are high. Profits are high. People continue to follow it. Defenses have been under assault for years. High Octane offenses sell tickets and get ratings. The hardcore fan might appreciate a 9-6 slugfest, but your average fan wants to see touchdowns, and lots of them. The NFL knows that, and are doing their best to drive the game that way. And unless you are willing to stop consuming it, that's exactly what will happen.

But how many people are really going to do that? The League knows exactly what they're doing here.

It is? So just because they're a professional football league they should be stripped of all the rights and privileges extended to ALL other types of businesses?

Wow. Very much wow.
telling the public what they do with the money that they get for fineing a player for something he did during a game that the public is paying to watch is stripping all the rights and privileges from the NFL then they must not have very many rights and privileges

Yes i do...but once again it is just my opinion :twitcy:

Terrible opinion, but you're entitled to it. If it's that important than stop watching games, stop buying tickets, stop going to websites that report NFL scores and stop buying NFL clothing. It's a free market, if you think they aren't doing the right thing then don't support them. Heck, start a boycott and get others to join you until the NFL publishes the info you want to know.

I didn't say it was stripping all their rights and privileges. I said it was stripping a right that is afforded to all other types of businesses. You might want to take the time to actually read posts before responding.
