West Virginia

I think it’s really tough for Olympic sports right now, big picture. I think we all need to again be really damn glad we have Kevin Dresser leading the program.
Having to raise money for the regional training center perfectly prepared programs like ISU wrestling for NIL. They just shifted most of the funds from graduates to current competitors.

Anyone got any insight yet on the ticket situation Friday?

On a different note, this is a sneaky tough dual when you look at the matchups. Wrestlestat has it 23-9 ISU and that’s if we have a full lineup.

(WS rankings)

125 - #10 Poulin vs #5 Strickenberger…. Poulin is 0-4 against Jett.
133 - #5 Frost vs #22 Andrick… one of the better young wrestlers, Frost won by MD in Vegas earlier this year.
141 - #5 Ech vs #56 Titus… talk about a guy that hasn’t improved for whatever reason. Titus looked like a stud in the making a few years ago and just hasn’t looked the same since. Injury? Weight?
149 - #9 Frost vs #76 McDougald… Don’t believe McDougald has wrestled in a long time so he may be injured. He’s a top 25 guy if healthy though.
157 - #13 Zerban vs #6 Watters… a great chance for Vinny to improve seeding with a win over a top guy.
165 - #17 Euton vs #60 Taylor… should be a bonus victory, sounds like Taylor suffered injury vs Mizzou though.
174 - #13 Gaitan vs #17 Conley… these guys are 1-1 and I expect a great match here. Conley is tough and there will be fireworks in this one.
184 - #21 Dean vs #22 Bush… another one that will be very tight. Bush just lost 2-1 to Sinclair. Will be a low scoring match.
197 - #2 Elam vs #17 Lawrence… be curious if Rocky goes Friday and/or Sunday. Lawrence has improved and is a tough out for anyone. I see him being a R12/low AA guy.
285 - #1 Bastida vs #79 Kehler… not much analysis for this one.

I agree. WV has some dudes. I was looking through the matchups this morning. There definitely will be some decent matches, and we can not piss around at some weights. 25, 57 and 74 will be especially fun and huge opportunities.
