We Got Destroyed

Moral of this story? DON'T DO WEED!! You hurt more than yourself.

Exactly. If you do weed, you risk thousands of Iowans spending money on bowl games instead of donating their precious dollars to something that has value.

2 turnovers. That was a Physical Big 10 type team. We are obviously not quite ready for that type physical strength along with athletic ability.

It didn't like the physical mismatch of previous coaching staffs but there was a physical difference at spots.

Notre Dame is K-State and Iowa only with better players. Campbell still refuses to figure out teams like that so no surprise we got destroyed today.

Have no idea what you mean, but I'll take a stab at it. Those teams attempt to win turnover battle, run the ball, and stop opponents run. 1] Lost two fumbles. 2] ND had better Oline. They completely controlled our defensive line both running and in pass pro.
GAME OVER! In simple west coast terms we just ate a bunch of

He can hang with faster spread teams like Baylor and Oklahoma but can't compete with bigger, physical teams that control the ball and play good defense.

Its actually similar to basketball, they always run KU out of the gym but then struggle with taller, physical teams like Texas Tech and Baylor who slow the game down and play good defense.

Except this is the only year outside of 2016 that ISU really got throttled by KSU (although I'll concede that for 3 quarters last year it was all KSU).

Notre Dame had more talent than those teams and it showed. Can't beat a better team when they play better and your team isn't too sharp itself.

Have you considered that neither KSU or Iowa got up by 21 points at any point? And that ISU had several chances to beat Iowa. Purdy fumbled vs. them, and oh look, he fumbled today.

The 'margins' HAVE to be a focal point next season.

I never said they were getting blown out by those teams but going 1-7 against them isn't cutting it either. Last year they needed a miracle comeback just to beat a clearly less talented K-State team.

And that’s life. You get punched in the face and you fall down. You lose and figure out a way to make sense of the ashes. This team was so much better than most ISU teams, but it just didn’t quite have it together. Good players, good coaching, but not quite there.

Curious how u can say 'good coaching`? I did not see good coaching at any point this year.

Hey, at least it wasn't the Liberty Bowl 2012. :)

That was worse....and history has shown that the lack of urgency in response to that did indeed waste 4 years (retaining Mess and then Mangino) and millions of Iowans' dollars that could have been put toward a positive and permanent program culture.
This was not good though....and the recruiting momentum is the biggest casualty. Stating the obvious I guess.
It would be sweeet if Hoiberg lost to AMCC.
