Yeah it sucks. But it's a nice problem to have. Both teams in the Sweet 16. Only Michigan and North Carolina can say the same.

Because they were not played at the same exact time, which was a possibility on both days. Yes they overlapped, but it could of been worse.
ISU, North Carolina, and Michigan have both their men's and women's teams reach the Sweet 16. The Michigan men play on Thursday and the women on Saturday, but that is a result of where they were originally seeded in the brackets. UNC men play at 9:40 EST, while the women tip at 7:00 EST on Friday, so no overlap there.
The ISU women and the UNC women are both in Greensboro, so swapping their games would have created a conflict for the UNC teams. The NCAA should have advocated for swapping ISU/Miami and KU/Providence in Chicago to avoid the conflicts.

Michigan men's basketball plays Thursday while their women play Saturday.
North Carolina men's basketball plays Friday at 8:30PM while their women play Friday at 6PM.
