There was a time when we almost exclusively played a 2-3 zone and rarely switched to man defense and we were a really good defensive team those seasons. I don't know why we did not go to that more with Audi basically camping out in the paint already on defense. If you have good wing players that can get after it and rotate to the ball the 2-3 works well. We maybe even need to try some kind of matchup zone or a box and 1 as what we've been playing lately we really get exposed on defense against good teams.
This made me chuckle a little as I too remember when the Twister Sisters played zone almost exclusively. And people on the boards complained "Why don't we ever play man-to-man like other teams?" Ha!

I mean when we play a man to man defense where 1 player is essentially stationary and we lack the speed and athleticism at some positions some variation of a zone would make sense to me. Anything to give teams a different look once in awhile I guess, we used to focus on defense more in the past it felt like and that's the 1 area we have the most room for improvement with this group as we have the firepower offensively to hang with good teams IMO.

Here's a video with highlights:

Not much to get from this, but my two observations:
  • She has a pretty quick trigger on threes
  • She reminds me of Emily Ryan on defense when it comes to getting steals. But even more than Emily herself was.

Different loooking shot. She don't use her guide hand all the way through. Nothing wrong with it. Just one of those thing that I notice.

Where is Megan Taylor at these days? Guessing she did not go back to Baudette.
