So who on here can (and is willing) to spill the beans.... who was the recruit that was wavering, and what former player made contact with her ? I'd like to (silently, of course) thank & appreciate 'both of them' for helping ISU. (This came from a post earlier, but maybe not this thread)

Would be curious what those who closely follow womens hoops feel:
1: Ryan
2: Belanger
3: Brown
4: Bristow
5: Natabou

Diew- back up 3/4
Zingaro/Crooks- back up 5

Still seems like we need another guard in the portal. Just not sure what we will get out of Dawkins, King, Joens or Jackson.
I feel like I'd be surprised if both Brown and Bristow beat out Diew. Not that I'm not excited for the freshmen; I just think that Diew's experience gives her a big advantage to at least start early in the year.

Another guard would be great for depth. I think at least one of Joens and Jackson should be able to meaningfully contribute, but there's definitely a lot of uncertainty in the backcourt (besides Ryan, of course).

Diew is experienced and absolutely shows brilliant playmaking but inconsistently. I'd go with her first. But Bristow mostly likely will push hard as the season goes along. I think Jalynn is a top-ten player out of big ol' Texas from what I read.

With the official accounts posting the additions of the transfers, are we done looking for additions? We could probably use another guard.

She wanted to play at a school that played for a championship. OOOps. Well maybe, she wanted more than 100K then.

If she picks South Carolina or LSU she isn't going to be jacking up 800 shots again next year. The outlier for Mulkey was Odyssey Sims senior year where she did shoot 800 times. She only shot it an average of approximately 350 a year prior to that, so, outlier. Those top teams can use a "scorer" but have no need for a volume shooter. Will be an interesting adjustment for her. Not like Boston couldn't have shot more if on a team with less all around talent and had to shoulder more of that load.

BTW, I always go back to something than ISU assistant Brenda Frese said about Megan Taylor. Taylor, at that time was Minnesota all time leading HS points leader. Frese noted that when scouting and seeing her play what stood out was that "..she was a scorer and not just a shooter."

That was the biggest question, does Bill start Diew instead of Bristow.

Based on the roster, who starts may not matter as the trio of Diew, Bristow and Brown could be the 3/4 rotation. My biggest issue with Diew is inconsistency, but maybe if she starts...

Always referred to Taylor as the "little engine that could." My all time favorite player at ISU.

Nice honor for Bristow!

I've always thought Bristow was the star of this class, despite the accolades of some of the other players. I just think she has a game like we have never seen at Iowa State for women. A tall girl who can handle the rock, shoot the three, rebound, score and facilitate. A point forward type. A taller Bridget Carleton with a better handle.

And a tall gal that won't be forced to play out of position because we don't have true posts. Both Brown and Bristow are pretty intriguing recruits to me.

Brown and Bristow are both much better shooters than Diew. I have watched her shoot too many three's that didn't seem to have a chance. I am not overly impressed with her finishing inside either. She is a good effort player though.

My favorite Megan Taylor moment: during a time out, Fennelly for some reason pulled Megan aside and was chewing her out. Megan reached up and straighten coach's tie! A grin broke out on his face and he couldn't continue! Only Megan could do that!

Always thought her shot was unorthodox but it went in! Great player! One of my favorites too!

Believe that could be said of Brown as well with the inclusion Brown has proven to be a passer of some ability and awareness.

Brown has some of that game in her, however, I think Bristow is quicker and is a better scorer. Brown looks like Carleton 1.0 while Bristow looks like Carleton 2.0.
