Verizon Question

Ok, one last question.

Will I be able to terminate my current contract at best buy and sign a new 2 year deal?

To be honest, I am not sure if Best Buy can do it. They are not an actual Verizon store so I do not know quite how they do everything. Even if they can't it is easy to do it, just dial customer service but you will need to know the last 4 of the account holder's social security number and a password if there is one.

I also do not know if you will be able to turn around and sign a new deal. Sometimes it can take awhile to process the termination, and quite frankly I have never had anybody try and do that before.

If you upgrade a phone at Best Buy or someplace similar, does your plan stay the same as if you just renewed and upgraded at a Verizon store? Do you still get corporate discounts etc. that are on your plan? Thanks for the help.

Honest question. Of the phones available at Verizon right now (excluding any inside info you have about what is coming), what phone is better than the Incredible. I guess its a bit of a personal preference issue, but I still think the Incredible is the best. The Droid 2 is to thick, and too heavy. The Droid X is too big, as a person who carries the phone in his front pocket always. And the Samsung phone is the same size (right?).

I'm really not trying to argue, and I know everything I've said is up for debate based on personal preference. But I'd really like to hear what phone you think is best on Verizon right now.

Just get the Incredible. No point in waiting, if you wait you'll always be waiting. I thought the same thing about the X (the screen being too big) so I got the Incredible. The Incredible is a nice phone. They gave me an extra memory card for free when I bought it. Even so it has a decent amount of memory anyway. Just get it.

Yes you are supposed to but we have had quite a few people come in recently because places like best buy messed something up. Honestly it is smart to go to an actual store. We may not be able to have have all the specials they do but we actually know what were talking about and how to do everything.

When Verizon stops making me wait 6 - 8 weeks for a rebate instead of paying the same final price somewhere else I will shop at a Verizon store. I will never understand why they take business away from themselves doing this.

The one I work at does not do that. We actually fill it out for you and all you have to do is mail it in. It usually takes about 2 weeks to get it back.

Just checked(as I am at work right now) and yes you can do that but you will not be able to have the same number. They will give you a new one.

It's still rediculous that I have to pay more up front at a Verizon store than I would at a 3rd party vendor or even at VerizonWireless.com. It just doesn't make business sense for them to do this. I understand they are banking on people forgetting to request the rebate but I would imagine that their store fronts would do much better business if this process wasn't in place. Why would I take the chance that my $150 gift card would get lost in the mail or in processing instead of just buying it online or at another retailer? Even if I have questions, I can still go into a Verizon store, get my questions answered, and go buy the phone elsewhere.

Get the cheapest prepaid phone you can find, port your number to that phone and terminate your verizon plan. Then sign up for the new verizon plan and port your number back. Costs $10 max, problem solved.

Phones are much cheaper over the internet through a third party. Paid $40 for a Droid 2 and it would have cost me $150 at Verizon.

They can do the upgrade on the internet. It was very easy. Just do a search and you will find all kinds of deals. Of course, you need to be able to upgrade and they can tell you that on whatever site you choose. I checked all of our phones on one site to find upgrade date when I was shopping for phones.
