Ranking doesnt mean **** but I am interested to see how AP and coaches vote this week.

I personally think we will drop a couple spots due to eeking out a win + still no real Big 12 respect + Tennessee will jump us and wouldn’t be surprised to see ND jump us too. Possibly Clemson as well.

Will they drop two loss Bama far? Will BYU move up a couple and past us?

Winning a close game isn't going to matter much, if at all. But they'll definitely give Tennessee a few spots for beating the team that just lost to Vandy.

Tennessee
ISU
ND
Clemson

By what logic would BYU jump ISU? They had almost the exact same scenario play out against a bad team.
Agree but they could have been ranked ahead of us this past month with 2 top 25 wins on their resume to our 0. We got the benefit of beating a ranked Iowa early. Plus, BYU was crummy last year so they weren't being taken seriously by the pollsters.

I think this week will be fairly straightforward, nothing all that wild happened IMO. Bama drops into the teens, us and LSU will move up one spot, Tennessee might leapfrog Clemson. Indiana's due for a jump but I don't know that a big win against Nebraska is enough to get them into the top 10 from 16.

No way BYU jumps us, but voters - especially in the media - will be anxious to move Tennessee, A&M, ND, and Clemson up as high as they can.

In fairness to Klatt this is not a completely outrageous take.
Agree. Any of the teams that got a top 10 win jumping us will make sense. If BYU even comes close to jumping us after having virtually the same game I’d be shocked

Several projected rankings show no change. Miami has won by the skin of their teeth all year and they seem to survive it

And Indiana. They will skyrocket because B1G.

Not good trying to hold onto a top ten ranking going into a bye week. They can advertise a top ten game next week by jumping us and put a team in with a game. We'll probably jump into the top ten again next week with a couple matchups going on while we sit. Drop out with a win and back in being idle.

In the previous two weeks, Tennessee lost to Arkansas and beat Florida in OT. Alabama is extremely overrated. Not so sure Tennesee moves that much.

Indiana has not played any world beaters either but has been absolutely rolling teams.

Nebraska is not great but neither is UCF. Indiana beat Nebraska 56-7 yesterday and we snuck by on a miracle.

My point is simply that this is all, of course, subjective and it’s not insane for someone to like our resume less than IU
