United Center = Cyclone Kryptonite

We could luck into KC region with a low seed, but we would be kept out of DSM with anything but a 1-4. Committee prevents home court advantage like that on the first weekend for the non top seeds.

Our best shot at DSM-KC is probably to get a top 4 seed, have some good luck about the other top 4 seeds in terms of when each location gets filled, and be on a different seed line than KU so that both of us can go to KC second weekend.

(EDIT)

Good point regarding the lower seed ... although ISU isn't prevented from it in general since it isn't host school, probably wouldn't get it for anything but top 4. Near-by slots for a 7 thru 11 would have to be something like (maybe) Omaha or (as this season) Milwaukee.

You're right the DSM-KC chance might be 2 KU and 4/5 ISU ... also a chance a BiG like UW, Illinois or (ugh) Iowa could be in the mix. (Not limited to those teams or those 2 leagues, but some basic scenarios).

Creighton should be better next year. They have a nice roster.

Denver is also hosting first and second round games. Being in the west side of the state, I wouldn't hate that. Also Vegas is hosting the West Regional games. Cyclones have proved they'll travel to Vegas.

Really the next few years have lots of good options.
2023- Des Moines and Denver; KC regional
2024- Omaha and Indianapolis; Dallas regional
2025- Milwaukee, Wichita, Denver; Indianapolis regional
2026- OKC, St. Louis; Chicago Regional
