Travel from CR to Ames

I usually expect conditions to improve significantly before the end of the warning period. That said, I just turned around. Didn’t know the warning was extended until midnight when I left.

I'm curious if anyone has been on 80 east much today. I have a friend whose flight was cancelled last night and is renting a car and driving from Chicago tomorrow morning. I'm sure conditions will be close to normal pretty early tomorrow, but I'm wondering if the tow trucks will be out tomorrow as well. I'd guess that would slow things done.

Had tickets today to go with my wife and 2 young kids, would've been my daughter's first game. Decided it wasn't worth the risk driving over from Cedar Rapids. Bummed to miss it, but too many things could go wrong.

Johnson County EM not happy about the game here in IC tonight either. The older I get the more foolish it seems to travel in weather like this.
