Trailer Back up Camera Problems

Last year I purchased a 2021 Grand Design RV (private treaty). It has a hard wired back up camera and the previous owner had a 2016 Silverado 2500. I have a 2024 Silverado and the camera does not work. In doing some research I ran across several similar cameras that were specific to a group of model years such as "GMC 2014-2020". Does this make sense that the camera id just not compatible with newer trucks?

Lots of times they are wired with needing your truck lights that must be on.

I can't see a brand ɓut when I search the model number it shows up as a camera for several GMC products. One site said it was for 2014-2020 model years. I also found one that is compatible with 2024 Silverado. I'm planning on ordering that one and see it that works.
