Some things to watch for on the men's side...
We are shaped to score lots of points in maybe a third of the events this year.

ISU has 5 of the 8 runners in the 800m final. Looking to score big points here.
Mason Weh ran a massive PR of 13.74 in the 110mh setting himself as the favorite by time today.
ISU is loaded up for the 5k in attempt to score 20+ points. OSU refrained from entering their good runners in the 10k so don't expect as many point for ISU as they scored 31 in the 10k.

Potential for some points in the Discus with Kevin Sakson seeded 3rd.
Eric Fogltanz is looking to place top 3-4 in the 400mh
ISU has put together their best 4x4 of the year to finish it out.
Festus Lagat is the favorite in the 1500m
We have a 4x1 team... I would be shocked if they don't get last as we don't have any runners in non-hurdle races shorter than 800m. 1 point for that team though since there is only 8 entries.

Notes from Friday/Saturday
ISU dominated the 10k going 1-4 and 7th scoring 31 points (Our top 4 placers are all inside the ISU top 10 10k times)
ISU had great performances in the Hammer throw and Javelin
Wesley Kiptoo who won the 10k and is the 5k favorite ran the 3000m steeplechase for the first time at ISU and only set the fastest time in the country.

Like noted before it will take a decent shakeup from Texas who is solid across the board in almost every event to win the meet, but it could happen.

Interesting note in the 4x4. I went through all the events and used season bests or prelims to guess the order of finish. Going into the 4x4, I projected Iowa State with a 156 to 155 lead, but Texas will win the 4x4 no doubt. I projected 26 points for Iowa State in the 800 and 5000.

The 1500 will be huge as that is a big point scorer for Texas. The 400 and 400 hurdles are other big ones for them.

That's pretty normal. Drives me nuts. Dowling runners seemingly are coached to impede and often get away with it. Don't see it from other schools nearly as much but that could be bc dowling is often up front

Is this a bad showing for the women’s team? Need to at least get them to middle of the pack.

Cross country school. One top 5 finish in outdoor in the last decade.

Glad to see Cailie Logue win the 5000 though. Was afraid she might be hurt after she had to slow run in to finish at the NCAA cross country meet earlier.

I know it goes on, but this was pretty blatent, not subtle at all.

Net result was a 4 point swing. ISU scored 3 fewer points and Texas scored 1 more due to the moving up of everyone else following the DQ.
Had it worked and not been a DQ, that too would have been a 4 point swing in ISU favor
