Toledo time for Matt

I’m sure this is a very popular take, but I doubt today was nearly as bad as it felt. The D is elite, the offense is terrible but full of talent so I think they’ll get to serviceable soon. This has been the pattern for 5 years in a row.

The next 3 games are against inferior opponents, if they’re not 4-1 in a month I’ll be a lot more concerned than I am today.
I AGREE, if we struggle in Las Vegas and at Baylor then their will be cause for concern....."This offense just can't seem to SUSTAIN A LONG DRIVE".....quoting Jack Whitver on the reaction show......I AGREE with you Jack after 120 minutes of football its either BIG PLAYS OF BUST!!

Seems to me that Purdy is either injured or mentally burned out. Maybe next week will be just what the Dr ordered.
It’s the offensive coordinator that is wrong. Matt Campbell and all the players are fine. Someone did bring up something interesting that maybe it’s time to have Nate take over some offensive play calling.

This right here is ridiculous. You must be missing Paul Rhoads, don’t you?
What?
Come to the discussion with something logical.
He's trusted Manning to the point of having impaired vision. As the golden boy who's supposedly the hottest coaching prospect in college ranks and to a lesser extent pros... you adjust. Mid game. Aggressively. Friendship aside... do it.

You better get back to the basics and figure out what got you here. Because clearly your vision has been impaired.
I can't read past post #8, page 1. Stupid.

Hopefully Coach Campbell is learning some things as a coach, he is still very young. I might like his teams to play a little better to start the season. I would love to beat Iowa 1-2x every three years.

My advice to you is hold your thoughts until the season is over. Hold your thoughts until Campbell has been here a few more years, and be glad that he is here. Just hold your thoughts from now on might even be a good idea.

That is all.

Then fire your OC and take it over. But ADJUST
You realize we were 3rd in the Big 12 in point/game last year, and 1st in yards per play (ahead of OU?). Everyone should have been ecstatic about last years offense. It was one of the best, if not THE best in school history, and you want that guy gone? Who would we replace him with? I bet you were happy when Tom Herman left for Ohio State too, thinking we'd find an upgrade.

Gosh thanks for the free advice Noah. I won't think or express myself anymore unless I run it past your thinking first. Yah, he is a rookie coach after all. What a post. Ha!

I wish we would develop an offensive line. They push, they don't block.
But, to develop an O-Line would be too much like you-know-who.

At least we have 10 more weeks to say Petras is bad and Nate Stanley is still fat. That's worth a couple wins right there.

You really need to stop saying we, when referring to Iowa State.

You shouldn’t mock anyone else’s posts after starting this thread

I think Purdy may have something going on in the injury department. They seemed to be avoiding him taking any hits. He even bailed on a screen which is not what he would normally do. It is hard to run read option when there is no second option. Iowa figured this out early and played sound coverage and did not have to drop in extra people to the box. A healthy read option game opens up everything else. That is also why they ran the kid immediately upon entry because Iowa's alignment was begging the QB run.

Maybe it was a botched play but didn’t they run a QB draw on 1st down on one of the last drives they had him in there? After Milton misplayed that punt?

That was the play --- I was behind it in the endzone and it looked like a screen to the left hash to me. I will have to watch the replay to make sure.

You said you weren't drunk when you started this post, and now I'm starting to believe it true. Perhaps you could use a drink or two to settle down?

I'm not against people having their opinions or against good negative comments on the coaching when deserved but IMO you were way over the top.

Have a nice day.

Those of you posting that "we gave up" bc we pulled Purdy and Hall early in the 4th qtr..don't understand Campbell.

Campbell doesn't care who you are as a player or what awards you have won. He is only going to take so much failure from his 2 offensive stars before he pulls the plug..

Why should Jirhel Brock or Eli sanders or Dekkers stick around and put in the hard work and perfrom well in practice when Purdy and Hall are literally giving the game away multiple times??

Heck Eli Sanders looked pretty darn good and fast. Dekkers looked great and has great velocity on his throws..

Campbell did not quit he made the changes he made to try and win the damn game...

Does anyone with any semblance of a brain really truly think CMC quit? LMFAO.

This This This.

I have been a fan of Purdy but when you clearly dont have it its time to take a seat. Dekkers needs some reps in case something should happen to Purdy. Why keep Breece in there to risk injury when he has capable backups who bust their A$$ in practice too.

Purdy is a gamer and a great leader. i do look forward to a QB with some more anticipation that can throw a WR open instead of waiting for him to be open. The arm strength is a big deal too.

People please relax. We are now competitive every week! We committed FOUR turnovers! Our offense, even sputtering against a good defense did much better than Iowa's. Did I mention FOUR turnovers. " A year ago, SB Nation's Bill Connelly revealed that teams that register a plus-four or greater turnover margin win more than 90 percent of the time, and often in a blowout." Yes we lost, blow out, NO. Am I happy about the loss, HELL NO! But, I am confident we should stay the course. Let the football program handle this internally, it is their job from CMC, down to the managers. Our role is to be supportive of the best football program ISU has arguably ever had. We have no concept of what is going on inside the football offices and practice field. We have to trust the process. Everyone needs to enjoy the journey each season provides. We just had a flat tire, but let us still enjoy the journey. Have a great day ALL! Okay, Not lecturing, just my humble opinion on how to enjoy this season. I'll now put my pom poms away!
