I was in Hilton at the concession stand. The kid working when I asked if they received the tips he said that the organization in charge did not get them, but Hilton did. Does anyone know how the tipping system works? Most of the time I like to support the clubs and tip generously, Sometimes up to $20. If it’s not going to the club, I would like to revisit my tipping policy.

I recently had a self-checkout machine at an airport ask me if I would like to leave a tip.

Local bakery near me - where the person behind the counter does nothing but ring you up - asks for a tip if you pay with a card, but not if you pay with cash.

Here's a way around the tip problem at Hilton...write a check to the org working.

Not just Hilton but everywhere else too! Does starbucks give the tips to the actual employees?
Starbucks does. Stepdaughter worked at one for a while in hs.
Policies vary, but tipping on card goes to SB, then they split it among the workers at the store and pay on their paychecks. SB keeps the interest between tip and payout tho! I mathed that out to millions and millions of $$ for SB.

Cash tips went direct to the barista tho.

Noticed the tip line last night.
Also seems like concesssion prices jumped from last year.

At the game on Saturday we were told tips went to the ISU ROTC that was working the stand. I would like to know the answer for sure as well- if my money is just going to Levy then screw that.

NEVER tip at any concession type stands. The employees working the stands don't get a dime.

I thought this thread was going to be about our success or lack of success during the opening tip-off of the men's and women's bb games.

The worst is when they say "it's just gonna ask you a little question there" like shut up if you want my money just be straight up and ask, don't beat around the bush
