Alright so I'm an ISU grad and never experienced the Tip Top on game day while in school. However, I'm heading back for the game on Saturday with some friends and wanted to check it out. So, I was hoping someone here could help me out.

What time do they open on game day and what time should we get there to get some chili and beer without having to wait forever?

I've been there a few times. There has never been a wait, but we went later in the year and usually about 3 hours before kickoff. It is good chili!

Tip Top is always a good dive...I mean time. Every time i go there it just takes me back...

Opens at 6 a.m.

Get there a little early. Not a lot of parking, and there may be a short line. Last time I was there, a bunch of students were drinking in the parking lot waiting for the doors to open.

I've been told it opens at 5am. Are you positive it's 6am?

Trying to nail down my plans this weekend

6AM. Last three times I've been there, I've gotten there around 6:30 and had to wait in line just to get in the door. Worth the wait and crowd every time.

How did you graduate without getting to the Tip Top on gameday? I didn't think that was possible.

Line starts at 5 if you work it right stop by the keg shop at 2am get a case after bar time by the time you make it to the tip top you will only have an hour or so to wait. I used to frequent it during games and still hit it a time or 2 a year as an alumi
