The west coast is getting hammered with rain (5-8 inches of rain in CA), the Rockies are suppose to get snow that is measured by the foot. Any chance those systems make it up here and dump more snow on the midwest? I know there are people out there predicting another monster storm by the end of the month and a ton more snow in Feb. Shaping up to be an epic winter.

Depends, whats hitting California is going to track across the Rockies and phase with the system that will hit us tomorrow causing issues in the Ohio valley and Mid atlantic. Another major system then moves into California and it ejects from the Rockies and the model trend towards it being a more of a rainmaker with some light backside snows than a big winterstorm. On model shows a considerably more southern route which would make another big time winter storm likely for our area.....if it turned out to be correct.

so how horrible will the roads be with 1/4" to 1/2" of ice?

Pretty horrible if the surface temperature stays below 30F.

As for Saturday's attendance... the way things are looking now, it seems that it will just be rain, so it shouldn't hurt anything. Temperatures are forecast to hover around freezing Friday and rise above freezing Saturday, so the main roads and most other roads should be alright.
