Thanks for proving my point.
Any piece of literature having 10+ film adaptations is a lot.
It's more than The Iliad.

Ok, but I doubt anyone has even heard of most of those unless they are into Italian cinema or japanese-french anime. Maybe someone has seen the 90s TV series, which looks like typical network tv slop. I will admit The Return looks interesting. I remember thinking the trailer looked good when I saw it last year, but I didn't realize it was out already. I still stand by what I said that there isn't much to fight about on that list, but we'll see if anyone wants to take you and your O Brother Where Art Thou take to the mat over one of those.Any piece of literature having 10+ film adaptations is a lot.

I think their point is that while there are technically 10+ adaptations, look at the production quality of 90% of them. They aren't big Hollywood productions...at all. Like at ALL.Any piece of literature having 10+ film adaptations is a lot.

Pretty much. A little ironic he brings up the Illiad because at least that has Troy. Not a great movie IMO, but still a big budget blockbuster movie.I think their point is that while there are technically 10+ adaptations, look at the production quality of 90% of them. The one with Armand Assante was an NBC mini-series that was solid. I think I might even own a copy on VHS somewhere in a closet. Certainly not big budget movie good, but before the proliferation of reality TV and the rise of prestige cable shows being everywhere, the big networks used to sink a lot more money into these types of mini-series.I think their point is that while there are technically 10+ adaptations, look at the production quality of 90% of them.
