So remember when we all thought Indiana was screwed by the B1G changing it’s rules to allow Ohio State to play in the championship game only having played 5 games?

Well they weren’t.

The B1G essentially guaranteed Indiana a NY6 game by scheduling 2-win Purdue against Indiana on Saturday.

There’s Indiana’s payoff.

And it also basically guarantees that the B12 loser is shut out of the NY6.

And the B12 doubles down on stupid by reportedly lining up Texas as an alternate in the event ISU or OU is unable to play.

Unbelievable

Can someone explain to me why them doing this would hurt our chances at an NY6 bowl if we lost?

I thought the Big 10 was going to play the 2nd place teams from each division this week? Then 3rd place and so on...

Yeah so Iowa doesn't get that game now? I assumed Iowa vs indiana was now the 2 vs 2.

Indiana hasn't beat anyone good. I think Iowa would beat them if they did play.

B1G proving the whole thing has been a fix for a long time. “We’re gonna play in the spring...no, we’re gonna play half as many games but still get into playoffs...no, we’re gonna play half the games and work our schedules to get maximum benefit because decision makers don’t care if you actually play games.”

The hawks have to be pissed. Playing Michigan isn't going to help them out as much as indiana. Their fans thought they had a shot at a NY6 bowl if they beat Indiana. Not so much with Michigan.

It actually makes it much less likely we would fall below them if we were to lose to Oklahoma versus if they were to beat a team with a pulse next week, like Iowa.

And remember, Indiana was scheduled to play Purdue yesterday, according to the original schedule.

One wonders if the cancellation of that game was required due to COVID rules or if it was elective.

Sweet gig if you can get it.

How many at large New Years 6 spots are there? I don't think we are fighting Indiana for the only one.

They're using championship week to play traditional rivalry games that had to be cancelled... Indiana v. Purdue, Wisco v. Minney. Warren has been bad through all of this, but hard to argue that change in plan. Makes sense.
