Tharpe to KU

Selby is one and done. No question about it either

Mornigstar, Little, Reed, Taylor will all be gone.

He is a better PURE PG that Johnson and Releford. He will play and play a lot. He is really good

This is all assuming they won't recruit anymore guards in the future. I have a dollar on him starting one season at the most.

interesting to see how this will affect marcus paige.. does he want to go to KU and be stuck behind tharpe if tharpe is as good as people say?

This popped up on the hawkeye board, but I think this will have little effect on Paige. He doesn't seem like a one and done to me. He may be one of the best PGs in the 2012 class, but the fact he is ranked in the 40s tells me that the guards are overall not very strong in 2012, especially the ones. The Rivals recruiting coordinators have said as much when comparing them to 2011. The bigs are the cream of the crop in 2012. Paige looks like a multi year player, and would probably not mind playing behind a guy for one year and competing with Tharpe. The best players don't look at good teammates as a problem.

Agreed!

Signed,

Kirk Hinrich

Kirk Hinrich played 21 minutes a game his freshman year, giving them no reason to recruit over him. All I am saying is that it seems like at KU if you aren't a starter day 1, year 1 there exists a strong liklihood that you get recruited over.

Not sure I'd agree with that. Plenty of guys who didn't play much in year 1 played heavily later on - Aldrich, Morningstar, Reed, D.Jackson, R.Robinson, Kaun - 6 examples from the last 3 years (3 or which were drafted), and more to come this year with Johnson, T.Robinson, Releford.

Your point may have been a little more accurate under Roy, but, lately, Self has heavily used some former benchwarmers.

I guess you could call this a step up in offers from Providence, Iowa State, Rutgers....:twitcy:

...and Minnesota.

The Gophers are in a world of hurt at the point, now. They've got all their eggs in the Naadir Tharpe and Andre Hollins basket. They're desperate for any point guard in 2011 now.
