Taylor Mouser to Toledo?

You’re surprised MC is hiring his previous OC? Mouser is certainly a capable OC and has P4 experience. He’s been the most creative play caller we’ve had for a long time. People here bitched about him but they also ***** about everything.
Yes, I am.

Do you think Ped St fans think Mouser is at a NC OC level? That’s the expectation there.

Lol, MC doesn’t give two ***** about what fans want for a coordinator. He always hires people he trusts and he clearly trusts Mouser.
lol. If you think Matt Campbell can ignore future personnel criticisms coming his way, you haven’t paid attention to Ped St football. This has nothing to do with Campbell’s trust.

Again, is Mouser a NC OC level coach? He’ll have to prove that he is.

the problem is that it is worse at Penn State. Their fans will not wait for success.

You aren’t kidding. That schedule looks stupid. I will say though if he happens to drop at Northwestern or a random game like that they won’t take it well.

Thats a cakewalk to the CFP.
Hardest game @ Michigan just got a whole lot easier.
Win 1 out of Michigan, USC and Washington and your in the playoffs.

If Michigan ends up hiring Fisch, it really kills any challenge in that schedule because the USC game flat doesn't matter then.

What are the chances that Mouser gets an opportunity to become the HC at Toledo? Obviously was a GA at Toledo coming out of college. I am not sure he would be content with going from an OC at Iowa State to a position coach at Penn State. Thoughts on this?

He’s the OC as well as TE coach at Penn State. He’s not taking a step down, he’s making a lateral move that pays more.

It also baffles me how many people think hes ready to be a HC, when so many Cyclone fans wanted him fired as OC literally this season.

With the right players a lot of guys can look really good at calling plays.

I think every fan base 'goes through that'.
I agree.

I’ve seen some really high level teams and even NFL teams and would think “how horrible was that play call?”

However Play calls or play Calling?

Arky State had a porous rushing defense, and we came out throwing the ball early with no success. We could’ve ran it all day and been in total control of that game.

That is when I thought, ok. What are we doing here???

Same thing at Cincy, their D was VERY porous on the back end. Teams were throwing at will vs them.

So what do we do??? Run the F out of the ball early. With no success.

I was very much behind Mouser, just seemed like he was always trying to be an offensive genius instead of being an offensive planner.

“I’ll show them!”

Not sure about the Cinci game unless there were some coverages etc. that Cinci was showing that was more favorable for running the ball vs. film/prep but at Arky State it looked like ISU was trying to work on the pass game with newer receivers.

I feel like CMC did that kind of thing a lot vs. lower level teams, which imo should only be done when the lead is large enough to do that in comfort.

**Speaking of that, one thing I hope to see out of Rogers if the situation presents itself, if the opponent's on the ropes, keep swinging.

Fair enough,

I’ll stick with my thinking.
