For those of you who have purchased parking passes around the stadium. A lot of the ticket reseller websites list the lot color and then say "row parking". Are their assigned rows or once you are in the lot you can park anywhere?
Also it looks like the purple and gold lots are about a 15 minute walk to the stadium. Is that accurate?
This is consistent with most secondary parking listings as their systems are designed for tickets.most of these actually have a “seat” number as well when you get them. Many parking passes for Iowa State FB are listed similarly so it’s a safe bet that they are GA as in Ames unless there is a callout for reserved.

We went out for Paul Rhoads last game.... We had the big RV and stayed up in the black lot 1.... Good spot to spread out for our large group of ISU and WV tailgaters... we also went in to the basketball arena and watched them practice while there. We rode a shuttle down to the football game... it worked out well for us.. met a lot of very nice people.
It was easy to get in and out of that location.. and as I said.. they let us spread out and take a lot of space for our crowd... We never had so many people stop us and thank us for coming to Morgantown over the few days as we did that trip... I left my seat to head to the restroom.. wearing ISU stuff of course... I was stopped 3 times and thanked for coming to their stadium/game.... before I even reached the restroom during the game. We were very welcomed by everyone.

Years ago we asked a local after the game where we should go nearby for a couple more beers and food. We ended up at the Boston Beanery and withing 10 minutes a local came over with a tray of shots and drinks that they bought us.
Had to be at least $100 worth.

Yep.. the night before the game.. we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for a meal... and we all had our ISU clothing on...
They knew our Basketball team was playing that night so the manager came over and told us he was putting our game on the big screen with sound.. so we could watch it... we were shocked they did that for us....

So, a group of 8 of us went to Morgantown and everyone had a great time. The people we ran across were very hospitable. Very interesting culture and the tribute to the mining industry at the game was very sincere and full of pride. They look at providing energy much the same way Midwest farmers look at providing food.

Any who, a few additions to the above mentioned suggestions. Gibbies Pub and Eatery on High St next to Almost Heaven. Great food, drinks and service. We were at Gibbies, went over to Almost Heaven for the Cyclone event and soon left to go back to Gibbies. Everything was better there and the pepperoni roll are fantastic.

There was a new brewery in town called Short Stories that is very good. This is their second location but their first in Morgantown. Lastly Zeke's Breakfast and Bakes (also on High St) was excellent. Small and a bit slow but worth the wait.

For game day we had purchased permits to park in Gold lot ($40 each) and is about a 15 minute walk to Stadium. Spent most of the time in the Blue lot pre game. Traffic after game was terrible and Morgantown is the type of place you don't get of the main roads. Driving there is very similar to Galena , IL or Branson. Nothing is straight and everything is on a hill.

Anways I'd highly reccomend a road trip there if you ever get the chance.

I took 50ml bottles of Prairie Fire with me for party favors. Walked around and handed them out and was always offered great food and a sip from the mason jar. Heard some great stories about family history and the contents of the mason jars. I had to pace myself handing out the PF because the jars were starting to hit. The jar filled with marinaded peaches was delicious

Had a FANTASTIC time in Morgantown last weekend. On Friday, my buddy and I went downtown and saw plenty of Iowa State fans out and about. WVU students were all really nice and hospitable as well and only gave good natured banter.

Saturday we parked in the Gold Lot, which was about a mile away from the stadium, and we both had cups of moonshine in our hands from WVU fans within 5 minutes of parking the car. We ended up tailgating with that group and a few other surrounding tailgates the rest of the game, where we were "shined" and dined all day.

Definitely will be making the trip back there in a few years!
