Survivor 50

I would bet Savannah and Kyle are gone within the first 3-4 episodes

Possible. However, They might go after the big dogs first and just keep them around. Last time they had this they went at guys like Boston Rob. They might keep those two around for votes.

I'm hoping that some of the "old school" players are able to make it deep into the game and steer the game back more towards a balanced approached and not so heavy on the social part that has dominated it lately. There used to be a respect from the jury for winning challenges and now it's like a penalty if you win too many immunities or play too strategic. I don't think players like Tom Westman (my favorite winner of all time), JT, Tyson, Rob, and Ben Driebergen who all were challenge beasts would be able to win in this currenr era of Survivor. Many of them had some flaws with the social game but were great in challenges and playing strategy and their juries ultimately respected that which is why they won.

I can see this season going in a lot of different ways. The more recent players may just gang up on some of the more well known older players and target them first. I can see some of the newer players also see those as good people to align with as well and use their experience to navigate through early votes and keep the target off them for awhile. Or some of these players that have not played in a long time have had enough time away from the game to observe and have learned from their mistakes to be able to adapt this time around. For example Ozzy probably won't be the challenge beast he once was so can he finally play a better social game which is something he has failed to do multiple times. That's the finer points of this season I am going to pay attention to is if any of the players continue to do the things that got them voted out last time or play a different way this time and can succeed because of it.

I stopped watching after season 42.....debating if i should get back into it or watch the last few seasons first.

I was a very regular watcher from season 1 and through season 23. Watched a bit of season 24 and haven't gotten back into it since. I keep thinking I'll try starting the next season but never see anything with preview of each new season that draws me in enough to take the plunge back in.

Why do these reality shows keep putting Mike White on? He must have a hard working agent to try to keep him in the limelight. I want real folks on the shows, not past "celebrities."

I was hoping for all new players.

I am cautiously optimistic about this season. I will say one of my biggest gripes has been that they stay in Fiji, I know they are still doing that.

This “new school” survivor is just rinse and repeat in my opinion. I want people to openly dislike each other. Show some animosity. The “love you” hugs after voting someone out? Screw that.

With that being said, I don’t expect that to change. But I hope some of the old school flair comes out in these “old school” returning players.

I have my favorites on here so far. I hope Stephanie gets booted as soon as possible due to her anti-Semitic video from last summer. She's a true POS.

I can’t be the only one that thinks Devens and Emily look exactly alike right?

Also, two journeys in the first episode is just stupid. Manufactured BS

I thought it was a decent first episode. Nothing earth shattering. The guy that got injured I felt bad for but he was not that great at game play anyway, so he won't be a loss. The tribe voting Jenna out instead of Cirrie was a weird vote. They seem to forget old school survivor rules of "You can't be voted out if you don't lose". So they kick a stronger player out instead of the weak one.

Kyle was a great game player, he won Survivor 48 because of it. He's a huge loss. He and Kamilla were a great strategic duo, and it would've been a lot of fun to see what he and Genevieve could've done together. And to the 2nd point, that's new Survivor, anyone caught scheming or playing too hard too early usually gets the boot.

I like that Ozzy appears to recognize he needs to be better at the social game this time which is why he teamed up with Cirie. Just unfortunate that she is bad at challenges and almost doomed his plan by being the target of the vote. I dunno what magic he worked to get the vote off her but it worked. Joe had the same mentality as I would in that situation which is the best way to avoid tribal is not lose challenges so something must have changed his mind as he worried about being duped again too.

I feel for Kyle, that is a terrible way to leave. I didn't want him to win but to go out like that is nothing I'd wish on any player. Will be interesting to see how Kamilla pivot ls as she probably was banking on working with him at the merge if they both made it.

Still not a fan of coach and Stephanie. Coach has always played this "honor" thing but he has never really backed it up with action. Stephanie as Ive said is one of the most overrated players in the history of the game and just seems so fake at times socially too.

Good start to the season other than I wish the advantages were limited. Just let them play cutthroat without them. Even not knowing if there was advantages would have been entertaining to see them look for idols that arent out there. We'll see if Ozzy can properly use his 2 advantages to make it far. I wonder if she had chosen Jenna not knowing she had already been voted out if that idol would have come right back to her.

Isn’t she just popular with fans? She was on one of the worst tribes ever and never really has done anything outside of being on a tribe of one of I’m remembering correctly. She is just meh…but who else could they have brought back from the “old school” that could keep up with the grind of Survivor. I mean, even Colby looks ancient. The guy is 51, which quite honestly made me feel super old.

At least they didn’t bring back Kass. She was my least favorite player ever. Made decisions that just straight up made no sense. Like she never seen the game before and was just voting for people

Not a fan of Kass but I probably could think of several other players I cant stand more before her name comes up. Colton by far tops this list as an entitled douche who quit twice. Why Jeff ever invited him to play a second time may be the worst casting decision in the show history.
