I don't think he gets fired anytime soon unfortunately. But the question would be if we wait until the end of next bball season to keep this class, would fred come back? Otherwise we get another non-ISU guy.

Give it up. Fred isn't coming back. I know this is like finding out Santa isn't real but everyone needs to quit with the nonsense.

People actually think Fred wants to come back? I can't even imagine how over whelming Ames would for his family. Talk about jilted lover separation baggage.
Him and his family will always have love / ties to Ames and Iowa State. Like I said, there's a really low chance Fred comes back, but the door is not completely closed on him ever becoming the coach again.

I never bet and I would bet on Fred never being coach again.
I would also make a bet that he won't be coach again.. I'm just saying that if the opportunity came, he could be a candidate.

Thanks for researching. Kelvin Sampson jumps out as the guy that could make sh*t happen here without question, that also could potentially be interested as a former Big12 guy. As you say though, doubt Jamie would go for it.

VERY interesting!! Kelvin would absolutely be a good fit at ISU, and IF he were to come, I would expect a long tenure here. He was/is still very close to LE and TF from what I hear, so if JP called him, I'm pretty sure there would be a good conversation...

This thread's getting funny.

1. Fred's not coming back to ISU.
2. re: Sampson, Pollard's not going to hire a coach that put another school on probation.

3. watch ISU beat TCU and KU this week and people are going to be all kinds of confused.

I don't understand the love for Sampson as a prospect. So people want someone who's going to make things worse at ISU?

I heard a rumor JP offered Prohm an extension with no raise after last season. Prohm and his agent were offended and started talking to Bama. Bama offered Prohm and he came back with it to JP as a bargaining chip. Hoiberg caught wind of this, put Nebraska on hold, and called JP to tell him he's in if the job is available. JP essentially had the weekend to decide between Hoiberg or Prohm...

True, it was a rumor. I heard it too. That it was a true rumor is false.
