Solomon Young Updates

I did not watch but from his clips it looks like he has very long arms so I would imagine he might be able to play much bigger than 6'6" or whatever he measures.

Young looks a lot bigger/stronger than Brown, but neither can stop the other in the paint from what I'm seeing. Young's team looks pretty good. 21 points each for them so far.

Think you can watch the full game replay with that same link, if you missed it live. Solomon surprised me a bit tonight. Better post moves than I would have thought. Good competition too as he went up against the #4 2018 recruit who is 6-10.

Was able to catch the first half in-person. Brown is going to be really impressive once he gets stronger. But as for our guy, Solomon already is a beast and was really impressive tonight.

Watched this most recent replay. He looks like a raw Hogue already and really plays with confidence.

Hopefully we got a steal with Young. He looked pretty solid against Ivan Rabb last year too.

If he develops an offensive game he could end up being alright.

Jr. year Hogue had little offensive game (or at least didn't show much until UConn) but that's exactly what I'm hoping Young develops into.

Young may even be a lttle longer and bigger too. Not sure what his wingspan is but it looks impressive. He hit two threes last night so if he keeps developing that aspect of his game I could see him being similar to Hogue which would be great. A bigger, better shot blocking Hogue? I'd take that.

Confidence is what I took away from it too. He took every open shot without hesitating and he didn't shy away from taking it at the taller player. I also liked that he was quick and decisive about passing the ball out of a double team to an open teammate. That is a nice thing to have in a high school player.

He also played pretty nice defense against Brown. Not sure if he is going to be like Houge exactly. He is a lot bigger (weight, and maybe a little taller) but doesn't yet have the same nose for the boards.

Any new updates on Young that people have. I like hearing about the new players and yes I know I could stop being lazy and look it up.

5 minute video from his game the other day. Features both teams and multiple players. Solomon has some nice plays in this video. (22 in purple.) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IawLINQlu7w&feature=youtu.be

After 16 games, Solomon is averaging 15.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3 blocks per game.

*6-24 from 3. 25% shooter this season so I wouldn't expect a lot of 3's next year. Shot is solid though so that percentage could improve.

*47-67 from the free throw line. (70%)

*88-128 on 2-point field goals. (69%)
