Anyone happen to know anything about this? I think it happened Monday. The person killed was a good friend of mine back in the 90s. Interwebs doesn't seem to have any details.

Had a classmate that came from Dows in the 80s. About third grade I think so that would have been around 81.
Other friends are saying it was a murder but nothing more. I was just curious who did it and why? Drugs would be my guess. Supposedly the person or people responsible were arrested.almost no details in this article ... just that it appears to NOT be self-inflicted.

The Franklin County Sheriff said a shooting is under investigation after a man was found dead Monday afternoon.
Had a pickup stolen the end of October. Found in Thornton. I’m about an hour North to northwest of that. A lot of drug activity in that area so that is possible.
There was a ton of meth going around when I left in 1999. That is part of the reason why I moved. My friend got pretty heavy into it from what I have heard and he had some domestic abuse arrests and other legal issues. Completely different person than when I knew him.
Unfortunately through either boredom and hooking up with wrong crowds or poor choices, it happens to people who you once thought were good and solid people.
The shooter was defending himself and his son. The victim was allegedly high on meth, had a knife and also grabbed a gun belonging to the homeowner and stated his intent to kill both the homeowner and the homeowner's son.
I had a meth-head pull into my driveway this summer at about 10:00 PM on a riding lawn mower. Went outside to see what was going on and the guy was tweaking something fierce. Asked me for some gas so he could keep moving along. I topped off his tank and sent him on his way. He followed me into my shed when I went to get the gas and I thought for sure I was going to get jumped by him. I thought about having him stay outside the shed while I went in to get the gas, but with my wife and daughter in the house I wanted to keep my eyes on him so I let him follow me in.
Might want to keep an eye on the contents of that shed.
