Very solid choice for Seattle with the Kraken.

I wanted them to name it the Kraken for this very reason. And I love the fact they're already owning it.

I think some of the mock up logos were better, but IMO this is still very good. The identity ties in well with with both the Mariners and Seahawks.

Debating whether I can afford a jersey or not.

The NHL wasn't going to allow that because they didn't want to have to rename the Metropolitan Division.

The secondary logo is the real special logo. With the Space Needle in there.

Agreed. The primary logo is great, but when I saw that secondary logo I lost it. I plan to buy some apparel even though I'm not a hockey fan. I really like how the colors and logos of all three pro teams are aligned too. I think that's an underrated concept. (What were the Seattle Storm thinking, going with Oregon colors???)

They started out with the same color scheme as the Sonics (in the red/yellow/green era), and have since dropped the red and kept the green/yellow, presumably as a nod to the old Sonics scheme.
