Saturday 1-7 BB Games

Refs gave KU a 5 point possession, which could of been 6 if Mason would of hit all the free throws. Questionable flagrant foul call on Livingston (I get the call but don't think it was that hard of a foul). Refs then call a T on Livingston after Lucas comes over and confronts him. Two pretty weak calls that gave KU an extra 4 points. To close the half out.

Classic

Don't quite agree with this. OU will be in the bottom three this year. Kruger seems to focus on developing players vs going for the top recruits. It seems like their guards never stepped up after Buddy left. When looking at OU's forums it seems like their fan base thinks they are bad because their recruits never made strides in improving and learning form Buddy.

Our issue will be that we are young and experience. We have good recruits coming in and by conference play I think our freshman will be playing well. OU's issue is talent not experience.

Will Lon stick around to get those guys built up? He usually does good building teams for the short term, then gets out before they go to hell. This time he didn't get out in time, this go round.

Thanks for clarifying this - didn't catch it on TV. Was questioning why KU was shooting 4 FT's. Both the flagrant and the T were extremely weak (but expected at KU) calls.

I never heard confirmation that it was a flag. I just assumed it was because they shot 4 FT and got the ball back. So either there's some rule I don't understand with a dead ball technical after a foul or it was a flag.

Baylor will lose by double digits at WV next Tuesday.

I'm not as convinced as you about that, however, I'm also not sure how BU has won as many against good competition as they have. Playing the eers in M'town is going to be a high hurdle and likely their first loss, which will be too bad because they visit Manhattan next Saturday.

Overall, there weren't any surprises this weekend. UT remains the worst team in the league (coaches picked them to finish 3rd), Ku the best.

This will make Surly happy, but I think K-State is a much better team than I expected. I have watched the last few games and I think they are playing better as a team, using the pieces they have well. I am not a Weber fan, but the players seem to play well despite his coaching.

Watching all the Big 12 games so far, every team seems to have some weaknesses, it should be a fun year to watch and see who exploits the weaknesses the best!

K-State is 13-2 and the two loses were by a combined 3 points. They're not as good as their record. But they're way better than were most here picked them 9/10 in the league.

I think they're god, but I think they will finish as a bottom half league team still, IMO. Id put them at 5 right now just because of their performance against KU, but their two wins are against the worst two teams in the league at home.

After yesterday, Id go:

1. Baylor
2. KU
3. WVU
4. ISU
5. KSU
6. TTU
7. OSU
8. TCU
9. Texas
10. OU

It will be interesting to see how KSU finishes out. They seem to have a history of starting fast then falling off at the end of the season. Sometimes it is hard to tell how good a team really is coming out of the non-con because of the lack of good teams they have played.

There was no flagrant foul call made, Livingston just got called for a regular shooting foul on Mason. Then he got called for a technical foul for pushing, which was only called because the refs had repeatedly been pulling him over to the side the entire first half and warning him to stop pushing people.

We were in different seats than normal yesterday and so we were right behind the bench side back corner of the student section at that end and I saw a refs talking to Livingston at least five times prior to finally calling him for the technical. So that one was a cumulative call, not a call specific to that incident and it was compounded by one of the lamest flop attempts ever.

Baylor has played poorly in two straight home games, squeaking out wins against unranked teams in both. They are going to follow that up with a rise to #1 in the polls for the first time in program history Monday afternoon and a road trip to #7 West Virginia Tuesday night. This has "L" written all over it for Baylor

Then why did KU get the ball after the four FT's. Shouldnt that of been TT's ball? I was confused to that, so I just figured it was a flagrant...

2 free throws and the ball out of bounds at half court is the penalty for a technical foul, I believe. At least this year; they seem to change it every season.

That's a curious ranking if you believe otherwise.

I can't disagree with the logic here. All of it is true...

The guys are learning how to play with a target on their back. They seemed tight and a bit out of sync in both games at home... defending the home court in the Big XII is such a must they may have been tighter than they will be on the road.

Since everyone is sure that they will lose in Morgantown they may come out more relaxed...playing with house money. As for the ranking, who knows how they will react to that.. if it changes... I still think it's even money BU is second behind Nova or KU.
