I have heard lots of stories of corners being cut when the house boom was going on. And that was from numerous builders.

I think what it comes down to is these guys were getting so much work that they were hiring unskilled workers to complete jobs and likely alot of problems were caused by them not being properly supervised. Or maybe the builders were just cheap.

The house boom has been going on since 1950, which is why the three houses I've owned were built in 1910, 1933, and 1923 respectively; when people took pride in their work and weren't able to fake it.

If you're in DM do yourself a favor and move to Beaverdale.

There is a lot to be said for this...being on volunteer Fire Dept. I can tell you without question which is the better infrastructure.
