Rushing the Field

I don't really care what others may think of us. Rushing the field is fun and the players love it. It will probably get old eventually if we one day make a habit of beating top teams, but until that day, the post game after party is on the field.

Or you know, you could act like you expect to win a conference game.

I can appreciate your frustration being in the new conference and all but it's telling you have to resort to picking fights on a cyclone board. Why not head over to the buckeye board and remind them how great the huskers once were?

Top 5 team in Ames? I would be disappointed if those in attendance didn't rush the field....act like you have been there before-wait many of you were and it looked like one heck go a fun time against okie state.

Probably, I was a little dumbfounded when NC State didn't rush the field after they had beat FSU. That seemed like the perfect time to rush the field.

I think that had more to do with the fact that their stands sit so high off the field. It looked like a 10-12 foot drop minimum to the field.

If they are top 10: Rush the hell out of that field.
10-25: Situational (ie. bowl sealing victory, team is undefeated, ISU is having a real bad season)

Thing is, we are ranked. Does the #25 team often rush after beating the #5 team for nothing more than another conference victory (no championship at stake)??

I say no, but I'm pretty sure it will happen if by the grace of God we can win

This is the best pic I could find of the stadium online, but that looks like at least a 10 foot drop, probably more, from the top of the bleacher wall to the ground (at least it looked like it on TV). While rushing the field is fun, I'm not sure how many people want to seriously hurt themselves just to do it.

I'm not a big rush the field kind of guy (at least not since I graduated), but whatever. Go ahead and have some fun.

God damnit, I was just thinking "thank god nobody has posted a thread about rushing the field yet!"

I know, running up the score on us. Urban Meyer has no class.

I was at the game. This wasn't a 'class' issue, unless you mean that OSU is a different 'class' of team, in which case they were. You guys have to actually STOP the player with the ball, not just fall down in front of him. That 4th quarter was a shameful display of defense (and one that I thoroughly enjoyed every second of). What's Urban supposed to do? Tell his guys to sit still?

K-State is #5 in the Coaches Poll. I'm going on the field if we win this one.

To the OP... rushing the field isn't just about celebration, it's about emotion. Perfect example was the Iowa game last year. We didn't rush the field because it was Iowa, we did it because of how the game out.
