Chris was close enough to the old staff that he wasn’t objective with the whole situation. I don’t fault him for this, they were pretty great people.

Next year has the makings of a rebuild, with or without Rocco. As a result, starting Manske or Moberly at QB next year is probably better for the program’s long-term future. Just hope we can keep Manske due to his relationship with new K-State head coach Collin Klein.
I understand and believe that is 100% true.
However the fans and the $$$ spent say otherwise.
Saw a former NFL guy talk about this exact thing when I asked what the average fan doesn’t understand about the NFL.
That the money paid to the player matters more than who’s the better player. GM’s don’t want to be embarrassed by paying a guy to sit. Fans expect their big names to play…and big names is typically directly tied to contract $.
I guarantee you a Jimmy G at 80% would have started against Philly vs Brock.
Rocco was a slightly above average QB. This is a good thing. Higgins and Noel made him look better than he is.
He’s already started with the PSU cheering. On one recent episode of Two Guys he talked about how PSU will be his “big 10 team.”
If this becomes a thing with weekly updates, picking the PSU game weekly because Campbell is a “friend of the program” etc etc, I will quit listening. I want Cyclones news, I don’t give a **** about PSU.

I think Rocco is super coachsble and all but as a general premise maybe it's best to really start over.
There’s a lot of truth to that IMHO…I said it during the season as well.
He’s a good kid from a great family.
His opportunity to beat Purdy’s numbers was imho largely based on improved teams & Campbell’s coaching growth.
